Forms: Time input question

In Office 365 Forms, I am attempting to create an event request form.  I do not appear to be able to add a question for TIME of Day.  I see a template for DATE but not TIME.  In Google Forms "include Time" is an option for Date Questions in the contextual sub-menu.  Is there someplace to add this function perhaps that I am missing?  Ultimately I would like to add a script to the form that would auto-create an Outlook Calendar event on a shared calendar at the date and time on the form submission.

There is not even a time picker yet... Having just used Google Forms earlier I am so surprised that a so basic feature is not possible to use

Hard to believe something so simple has not been implemented in 2 years.  Is Microsoft investing in this platform or not?  It's hard to promote new platforms and technology, when basic things like this are missing.

I bet we will see Forms Pro soon with much more advanced functions.

But with an extra cost and not for all license plans :S

Have we had any more updates on whether we can have a question in forms that captures a specific time?

  • This feature is standard with google forms. I would like to keep everything under the Microsoft umbrella but not being able to specify time in a form is a big deal in my case. Hopefully this feature is added soon!

I really need this, have a few forms that don't quite give us what we need, without THIS.

having to do a really convoluted workaround which is just nasty.

        1) just use a generic text box and "hope" they put in something generally recognisable as a time.

        2) as 1) but use flow and its connectors to generate an actual time formatted response, its a bit of a ball ache though trying to take into account all the possible variations and typo's to capture everything.

  • Hi William , Thanks for taking the time and sharing your feature ASK. We have added this feature to our backlog.

        Hey Orlando,

Not sure if you saw this or if it affects you, but there was an announcement this week regarding forms:

Microsoft Forms new App "Polls" in Teams

Microsoft Forms has always focused on providing the best polling experience to our customers. However, according to customer feedback and telemetry, we have determined that many people don't know the "Forms" App provides polling capability in Teams.

To provide a better experience we are delivering a new Teams app specifically for polling capabilities. This new app will be discoverable in Teams meetings/chats as “Polls”.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.microsoft.com_microsoft-2D365_roadmap-3Ffilters-3D-26featureid-3D84567&d=DwMGaQ&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=Ev0LU5bZyrGtDFfEe6Jyifp1CjjBVP2sNr4yIh5LyLE&m=g7ROKaT42F_ZOEMYRX4yn9EnMltJugpC2UE_jG0iXho&s=xLVXZ6_rsBPoq8uschJFnkW1s63jQQ7748HzAa_sAZc&e=

        When this will happen:

We will begin rolling this out starting in Teams meetings and then moving to Teams chat in mid-October and expect to complete by the end of November.

The original "Forms" app will be retired from Teams meetings in mid-November, and then will be retired from Teams chat in at the end of December. Once retired from meetings/chat the “Forms” app will only be available in the Teams channel tab to provide Survey capabilities.

How this will affect your organization

        Once this rollout is complete:

        1. The new Microsoft Forms App "Polls" will have the same functionality, same service, and there will be no need for data migration.
        2. For the previous polls that were created in the original App "Forms", these polls will not be lost. Poll owners can still view them in the new App "Polls" portal in Teams OR view it in the Forms web portal page (http://forms.office.com/)
        3. The original App "Forms" polling capability will be retired in Teams meeting and Teams chat. Original App "Forms" survey capability in Teams channel Tab is not impacted.

What you need to do to prepare

You may want to update your users on the upcoming changes. We will continue to update this post with additional information as we proceed.

Mmm anyone got ideas to why this is so hard to implement? I thought it would come with Forms pro, that indicated that Microsoft atleast developed Forms!

Hi Nakul Madaan  and Microsoft teams,  it has been 2020 now... and the feature is still missing in Forms.   Appreciate if you can please roll this one out.
