Copilot in Word is not working

Anything I (or anyone else in our tenant) does in Microsoft Word with the Copilot sidebar does not respond. Most staff are on the current channel for Office, I'm on the Beta channel but get the same behavior.

The main prompt when starting on a new page works fine (hence why the document is talking about American Football), and Copilot in the sidebar seems fine in other apps such as Excel and PowerPoint.

I get this message saying, 'No suggestions available'. It doesn't matter what I type, I can't see any of my files.

    Hi FishyWishy,

I tested now in a Word document and it worked fine. I've tested to summarize document and ask some questions.

I did it in the desktop app.

Maybe you have a temporary error.

    Best.

Thanks, but it wasn't a temporary error. I've had confirmation from another third party that MS carried out a debug session with them, MS have determined it’s the latest version of copilot at fault, which may explain why not everyone is seeing it. They have gone away with my debug to investigate and hopefully fix, fingers crossed!

I have just bought the plan and I'm having the same identical problem.

Do you have today the same issue? FishyWishy

I’m having the exact same problem except Microsoft hasn’t been responding to my support emails after I’ve alerted them to this. Crazy to spend so much money on something and it doesn’t work out of the box. You get get around this in Word by using Word Online and that also has improved functionality in being able to select specific files on the cloud to use as a reference for generating text within the main document. It seems they are lobotomising the desktop apps so far at the expense of their cloud / online apps.

I've seen this update from another Copilot customer (see attached).

It looks like switching to the Monthly Enterprise Channel fixes copilot in Word for now, but with 250 odd users in our tenant been moved, I don't really want to have to move all of them (especially when the recommendation was to go to Current Channel)
