Android device registration stuck for enterprise devices with work profile
I'm trying to register my enterprise-owned Android device with a work profile, but it keeps getting stuck at the registration step. I've noticed that this issue only occurs with enterprise-owned devices with work profiles and not with fully managed devices. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it?
- rahuljindal-MVPBronze ContributorHave you checked the Entra sign-in logs? Do you have any Intune Device platform enrollment restrictions?
- Paul_IsaacCopper ContributorI am stuck at the same spot. Can't even wipe the device to try again at this point. Hope Microsoft isn't bricking people's Android devices.
- JutManGrahamBrass ContributorWe have found...
1. The network security blocked the Google Play Store and the Admin tool cannot download / update in the background
2. The OS is slightly out of date. walk through a generic setup bypassing everything and update the OS and try again
3. Hard reboot the device and upon booting up again you will see the Microsoft Admin tool flash a quick update and will work as normal. - RB_CCCopper ContributorFound the reason for this!
As shown in this article from @timmyitdotcom the device will end up like described in the question, when using afw#setup in Google Login page on Android 11 or newer.
