Why can't I draw a straight line?
So I got the newest version of word, I never had this problem before. Basically, I hold shift and proceed to draw the line.

- Behaves as expected for me, on 1711, W10 Pro build 1709, sorry no advice other than perhaps a bit of quirkiness with your keyboard? See if you can repro the same behavior with other shapes
What's the exact version you are referring to? It works just fine here on 1708 (8431.2131) - both shift and no shift behave as expected.
