Message Trace details

Hello Community!

Can anyone please tell me how I identify in a message trace; whether it is an email or a calendar invite that has been received.

Background: User is receiving emails but not calendar invites. I do a message trace and I can see the items delivered, but I have no way to tell if they are just correspondence email or the actual calendar invites. Does anyone know?

    Hi, this can quite often occur due to mailbox rules so I'd suggest that none are applied to the affected users mailbox first of all.

    I've just checked message trace in the Security and Compliance Center myself and the seems to be no way to tell the difference between a standard email message and an email invitation.  They look to continue the same trace information and simply say that the message was successfully delivered as shown below;

  • Just use the subject or any other details to narrow the search. Now, a common scenario is if the mailbox has a calendar delegate configured and invites are being redirected. Check via Outlook's Delegate dialog and via the get-calendarprocessing cmdlet.
