How to create addition Encryption option in permissions tab in outlook. Can I change it using IRM
- Oct 20, 2023
Hi rhotrix,
to create the options from the second picture in the permissions tab in Outlook, you will need to have an M365 Enterprise subscription and enable the Encrypt-Only feature for your organization.
Once you have enabled the Encrypt-Only feature, you will be able to select the Encrypt-Only permission from the permissions tab of the Outlook message window.
To enable the Encrypt-Only feature:
- Open the Exchange admin center.
- Navigate to Protection > Information Rights Management.
- Under Encrypt-Only, click Edit.
- Select the Enable Encrypt-Once check box.
- Click Save.
To select the Encrypt-Only permission:
- In Outlook, open the message that you want to encrypt.
- Click the File tab.
- Click Permissions.
- Under Permissions, select Encrypt-Only.
- Click OK.
The message will now be encrypted using the Encrypt-Only permission.

Please note that you are not able to enable the Encrypt-Only feature or select the Encrypt-Only permission in an M365 Enterprise demo tenant.
