Hi everyone! I have come across a requirement where the client would like to use an excel spreadsheet, a service account and application registration to manage group membership for a confidential group. They would like to create a group from which the members cannot leave, see other team members and cannot see the group itself. Now, I have the concept of the flow with me but for the life of me, I cannot get around to finding/configuring a group that meets the requirement. Have you guys come across this sort of scenario? Group Configuration: Users should not be able to view the group Users should not be able to view members of the group Users should not be able to leave the group Thanks in advance.887Views0likes4CommentsIssues with Sensitivity Labels and "Specific email addresses or domains" - Not working
Hello! We have enabled Sensitivity Labels in our tenant. The access control settings for the label states that a specific domain gets the permission "Co-Author". When we enable the Sensitivity label on a document and sent it towards the approved domain, it results in an error message when authenticating to open the document: "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Veni AS' and cannot access the application in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account." After doing some research I did some changes to the external domain within the Cross-tenant settings. The external domain now has the following settings: Inbound access: Allow access on external users and groups, within B2B Collaboration Allow access on external users and groups, within B2B direct connect Trust multifactor authentication from Microsoft Entra tenants, within Trust settings. Outbound access: Allow access on users and groups, within B2B Collaboration Allow access on users and groups, within B2B direct connect External Identities: Block access for external users and groups. (Inherited from default) After doing this change, I no longer get the same error message as above when authenticating to open the labeled document. Now I get the following error message: "You are not signed in to office with an account that has permission to open this document. You may sign in a new account into Office that has permission or request permission from the content owner" I have this working from another tenant to the same external domain and I have cross-checked the settings. Any idea on how to proceed, or if it is any obvious change I need to make in order to get this to work? All feedback appreciated! :-)160Views1like1CommentSeattle Conference

Hi, We are a small organization of about 200 employees, and we have following requirements. DLP policies configuration at Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint BYOD security Users should not be able to send files outside the org And so on as we evaluate We already have M365 Business Premium. However, after researching we figured out that M365 Business premium will alone not solve our requirements. May be compliance license will. We want to apply security policies at tenant level in our organization but definitely do not want every user to get licenses as this will be expensive for us and there is no requirement at all for our users. The question is, Is there a way to solve the above scenario?274Views0likes2CommentsIs PIM any good?
I'm planning a PIM implementation and am trying to understand a few things about PIM and certain recommendations. I have a OnPrem\Entra hybrid environment. I have many servers hosted both on prem in the on prem AD and in Azure. In traditional on prem environments this segregation has typically been achieved using separate admin accounts. This give you some segregation and protection in case an account was compromised. I'll accept its not bullet proof but a lot of things would have to work in the right order for a bad actor to compromise a separate admin account I've read and heard MS guys (probably driving license sales) saying that's not the right way anymore and JIT is the right way. Which of course requires license. I'm looking for opinions or observations from experience for the following: Why is doing one account (possibly the regular user account in a Hybrid environment) with PIM better that having a regular and admin accounts? Why not have a separate admin account with PIM implemented on the admin account in Entra? I can't see how this would be less secure that just one account with PIM. One argument I heard was you can require MFA to activate the access. Well right now i just use CA policies to require MFA for any use of a role I have nominated (portal\cli\PowerShell etc). How is Entra JIT with one account better than still having a admin account have a requiring MFA for them to log onto any of the the admin portals to use their privileged access? Another concern I have is controlling who is assigned to the roles. Right now I can add them one by one to the role in PIM but our MSP (who does the bulk of the management) wants to add a group to each role assignment and then they add people to the group to inherit the assignment of the role. For many reasons I cant go into there are large numbers of people who are in the group admin role. This basically means any of them could elevate theirs or someone else access into a Entra role if I'm using groups to assign groups to role. What if they start nesting groups into other groups and suddenly Domain Users has been nested and has Global Admin? How do I police this?185Views0likes2CommentsOngoing Compatibility Issues Between Outlook and Google Frustrate Users
There has been a long-standing compatibility issue between Outlook and Google. After every update, Outlook users face various problems, particularly with Google-based email servers. This situation significantly frustrates users and negatively impacts their productivity. Many businesses rely on Google's infrastructure while choosing Outlook as their email client. However, this lack of compatibility between the two platforms creates challenges for both individual users and organizations. It's high time these tech giants resolved this issue. Users who depend on Google-based email servers and have invested in Outlook are left deeply disappointed by these recurring problems.158Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft 365 Free Developer Program Not Working

Hello All, Can you please advice how do I apply a "Retention label" (Created in M365 compliance centre) to folders in a Document Library? I created this retention label below I published this label and it now appears in document library, but at a individual document level as shown below I am not sure how to make the same appear at a folder level. Note : In the actual customer scenario, they would like different retention labels to be applied to different "folders" (ie, users should be able to apply retention labels to folders, so that the documents inside those folders follow the label applied at folder level). For achieving this, I heard that we only need to create a retention label (not retention policy) as we are looking at a "Folder" level here (not site level or up). However I am not sure how to do it. Please advice.446Views0likes13Comments
