Export all images from Teams Comments within a channel
We have had a request within our department for a compiled collection of all images posted into a Teams Channel. These images have all been posted as comments, rather than uploaded as files.
We assumed that all content posted alongside text within a channel would be stored somewhere within the Teams SPO presence, and while site pages, documents etc are present it seems that photos posted as comments are not.
These are obviously stored somewhere, is there a way to pull them out as a collection?
The requested has several hundred images going back 8 months all posted as a post within a Team Channel, is there a better way to export these or download them without manually scrolling back through the channel?
You are looking for an effective way to extract all images from Teams channel?

Hello jshaunBTC,
Images sent in a channel chat in teams are stored in the teams mailbox.
To export all those images I would suggest to perform a content search from https://compliance.microsoft.com/ ( Content Search - New Search ).
Choose Exchange location and select the teams mailbox. ( To get the Temas mailbox, click on the 3 dots at the right side from the channel name and select "Get email address" ).
In order to filter only the desired content, I would suggest to use the "file type" search filter.
Hope this helps!
