Stock Data Types Wont Refresh - Provides Erroneous Error Message
I have an Excel workbook I created a few months ago and this afternoon while I was away, the "stocks" data type refresh feature stopped refreshing. The error message I receive instructs me to sign in to an account associated with this product (Excel), but I am clearly signed in. To be sure, I sign out and sign back in. Hit 'refresh' and receive the same error message. MS tech support tried to make a manual repair during a chat session, but it still will not refresh. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

forbisher As of 12:55pm (MDT) July 11, 2023 -- Stock Data Type refresh is still not working.
I am properly signed into my Microsoft 365 account.
I attempted to close Excel and restart my PC to no avail.
It appears that the Refresh is now working for some users; it is still not working for me.
- JohnGalt6809Copper ContributorJohnGalt here in Southern Arizona -- The Stock Data and STOCKHISTORY are now working for me. The right-click Popup Data Type Card is also showing up-to-date status/data. I did not have to reboot, close/open Excel or logout-login to my Microsoft 365 account...
I offer a tepid Thanks to the Techs at Microsquish. - FredwardCopper ContributorNot working for me either.
- BigD4meCopper Contributorand as of 2:50pm CDT, it has stopped working again.

Mine is not working either and I tried signing out and back into my Office 365 account. I didn't see anything in the Credential Manager either

Mine just updated..... Yay! Didn't do anything at my end. Just looked at open spreadsheet and values were updated...

forbisher I have exactly the same issue since July 10....terrible! I hope MSFT can fix this ASAP.

This still works on Microsoft 365 for Enterprise (just tested on my work laptop). It's our personal (or Family) Microsoft 365 license that is broken. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
I do the Office online hack but it's annoying to do this every time I need an update

Stock Data is working for me now!
- FlipFlop31Copper ContributorSame for me just now!
- Bruno1960Brass ContributorI wonder how many man hours on paying customer side have been wasted by this flaw?
I'm not impressed, I'm furious!- The_SaintCopper ContributorOk. I was just playing around. I have a personnel account with Microsoft and a work account. From the work account, everything updates nicely as before, but when going back to my personnel account, the refresh stops working and I get that annoying error message. Did Microsoft just change what subscription type can use this service? Like only corporate business accounts? My personnel account is a paid subscription, but obviously not the same as the corporate account.
- Cosmin1969Copper ContributorI don't think they changed what subscription types can use this feature. If I open the spreadsheet in Office Online, it updates as expected

forbisher I have the same issue. Logged in and out at least 10 times. Also tried my work VPN to confirm it wasn't my firewall. Had my IT dept at my office try to replicate the issue on an entirely different account. Nothing worked, same error. I used the MS support chat feature who confirmed it is an issue on MSNs end

It is ridiculous that Microsoft pays scant attention to this problem. These are all paying customers. It might have been created due to a change over from Office 365 to Microsoft 365. I wonder why Microsoft needs to rename products over and over again.
- Bob83Copper ContributorCan make a doc in google sheets for stock prices - feed to Google Finance...can download prices from google sheets into excel and copy paste then copy/paste into your models - temporary work around i'm using until MSFT gets it corrected
- The_SaintCopper ContributorSame problem here since yesterday. So annoying. I checked for an Office update, and it ran some update, but still not fixed. This is a real pain.
