Stock Data Types Wont Refresh - Provides Erroneous Error Message
I have an Excel workbook I created a few months ago and this afternoon while I was away, the "stocks" data type refresh feature stopped refreshing. The error message I receive instructs me to sign in to an account associated with this product (Excel), but I am clearly signed in. To be sure, I sign out and sign back in. Hit 'refresh' and receive the same error message. MS tech support tried to make a manual repair during a chat session, but it still will not refresh. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Same issue here: can't refresh my stocks in Excel since July 10th.
Is it true that this Money feature is not supported any longer?

Is anyone aware of alternatives?
Thanks!P.S. One hack:

Wanted to add myself as one of the many disappointed user. It is disappointing that they are letting this outage go for over 24 hours.

Same problem. Started yesterday afternoon - 10 JULY EDT
I've signed out of Microsoft 365 a couple times; shut down/restarted the computer; etc and it won't go away. Only seems to work if I don't go into the spreadsheet via the Excel app but instead open the file via my OneDrive URL in Chrome

Same issue here. The program is pointing to the need to sign in with a subscription that supports these data types. CS is pointing to a bug in the system and are fixing it as we speak.

I started having the same issue yesterday midafternoon.
I just got of the phone with Microsoft tech support. They stopped supporting money in excel on June 30th, which is why it no longer updates my stock data. I was tracking over 70 stocks and can't believe this feature was discontinued.
Sounds like other folks on this thread got a different response though?.
- coolhand1517Copper ContributorCamboy2465 Yeah this is a different issue...stock data is still updating in Excel online for most people so we know MS is still supporting stock data types.
- mwmacleanCopper ContributorMoney in Excel is/was a different set of features than stock / geography / currency data types that the issue is around here.
- Camboy2465Copper ContributorThats what I thought also. I was just relaying what tech support said!

UPDATE: as of 4:15pm pst the refresh function is once again working. I did nothing so I assume Microsoft has fixed the problem.
Same problem here in Canada since mid day July 10th as far as I can tell.
While they are fixing the refresh issue it would be great to implement the AUTO REFRESH capability and ask their data source to populate the 3 dozen fields or more associated with a stock data type for stocks, mutual funds and ETFs. Am I the only one that wants this stuff?- Bruno1960Brass Contributorauto-refresh works (worked) for me, but I would also like to know which ETFs and market indexes are available
- Prentice3Brass ContributorINX for S&P500, DJI for Dow Jones Industrials, and Comp for NASDAQ. You probably meant some more unique averages, but I wanted to help if I could.
