Stock Data Types Wont Refresh - Provides Erroneous Error Message
I have an Excel workbook I created a few months ago and this afternoon while I was away, the "stocks" data type refresh feature stopped refreshing. The error message I receive instructs me to sign in to an account associated with this product (Excel), but I am clearly signed in. To be sure, I sign out and sign back in. Hit 'refresh' and receive the same error message. MS tech support tried to make a manual repair during a chat session, but it still will not refresh. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

- coolhand1517Copper ContributorBeen dealing with this problem for over 16 hours now...maybe I can get a refund from MS for being provided an inoperable product?? Seriously though, Stock Data Types has been non-functioning multiple times over the last year...it's starting to get old MS.
- mjheller1Copper ContributorJust to pile on (maybe when this thread reaches critical mass, Microsoft will raise the priority for a fix). I'm having the same issue and tried the same sign-out/in, restart computer steps as most everyone else with no success. Microsoft is a pretty big company ... right? 😞 They should be able to apply enough resources to address issues like this in a timely manner.

forbisher I'm glad it is not just me. Mine worked just fine in the morning of July 10, 2023, but stopped working. I signed out, signed in, rebooted the computer, and reinstalled Microsoft 365. I tried different combinations of things and have the same problem today. Glad to know it is a Microsoft issue and not corrupted files.

forbisher . Likewise, I have started to receive the same error message. I created the workbook with the stock data type over one year ago and the problem started yesterday (7/11/2023).
This problem does not occur in Excel on the web, but I can't use that application because it does not support VBA.

Understand online Excel / Excel within Edge is working for some when refreshed -- not here.
I get an additional error of : COULDN’T REFRESH DATAPower Query queries in Excel for the Web can’t be refreshed in workbooks saved in a third-party cloud location.

I'm in South Africa (UTC+02:00) and started my day with the same problem. Am logged in but can't use STOCKHISTORY or STOCK data types. Get told to log in, but am and account is paid up.
Super frustrating!!!!
