I'm struggling with figuring out how to add rooms to reference on the main page.

I think I see the problem. As is often the case with these templates, the design has some confusing (and limiting) features. In this case, if I'm understanding you correctly, the problem interfering with use by precisely the people who would go get a template rather than design it themselves, is that line for Totals in row 16 of the main sheet? How, the new user wonders, am I to enter a new room above that?! A good question, and definitely one that the designer should have anticipated.

What I've done with the attached is to move that total row ABOVE the data, and then just erase the "sample data" and copy blank rows down as far as row 50. I've also added cell borders which (IMHO) make it clearer (even if slightly less aesthetically pleasing).

And following the suggestion by mtarler I've also added two new rooms, just to show that they now appear on the list on the main page.

Can you explain a little more what happened? In my response above I explained the procedure. Notice how I added "Guest Room" on line 16. Did you try this and it didn't work or you don't understand those instructions or something else?

jenniferbrunenn Select the "Room Lookup" Tab and enter a new room name.  In the below image I added "Guest Room" and now the selection box is ready for another new room name:
