Formula To Calculate Percentage of Specific Value.
Device/OS/Windows Version: Laptop/Windows 10 Home/ 21H1
Excel Product Name: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013
Excel File: Attached.
Context: Hello Everyone! I'm business owner and have to make quotation of work detail, which involves creating table etc. I'm new to Excel and Do Not Know much about formulas. I have to add a certain amount of tax to my total value. I've attached a simple example of what I want to achieve. In the file, I want to add 25% of the Total amount in Grand Total Amount. The example is very simple, I can collect it on mind which 25% of 100,000 which is 25,000. But the real life values are very complex which involves larger figures. So I need a formula which will find the x% of y and the automatically add the result into y.
Expected Result: 25% of 100,000 SHOULD GIVE 125,000 NOT 25,000
See the attached version. To make it work, I changed the value of the tax rate cell to 30%, and used the custom number format
0% "Tax"
to make Excel display 30% as "30% Tax".

- Usmanmughal3515Copper ContributorThis Formula worked for me like a charm. Just clear one thing, will it work the same for any % of tax? E.g 44% or 57%. If yes than my problem is solved.
ThanksYes, simply type 44 or 57 in the cell.
