Excel Labs Add-in fails to load ("internal error")

Installed Excel Labs Add-in from MS Store. Icon appears in ribbon. When clicked, “loading appears” for several secs. Then “Failed to Load” and "internal error" messages appear. Retried and reinstalled many times with same result.

MS Windows 10 Home

  • 1) Update Excel and Windows, 2) Check add-in compatibility, 3) Clear Excel cache, 4) Disable other add-ins, 5) Run Excel as administrator, 6) Check add-in settings, 7) Reinstall the add-in, 😎 Check for updates, 9) Inspect error details

      Thanks for the suggestions. I went through all the checks you mentioned and it still fails to load. I found the Console had just one error: favicon.ico: 

      Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ().

      The https://advancedformulaenvironment.officeapps.live.com/favicon.ico link showed:
