Excel chart formatting
I have some questions about formatting a chart in Excel for which I have not been able to find answers in Help. I have attached the file:
- How do I get the data points to be on the vertical gridlines instead of in between the vertical gridlines
- How do I get rid of the colored circles at each data point. (And what are those circles called in Excel's terminology?)
- How can I add minor horizontal gridlines?
- The border of the chart is currently formatted in orange lines. How can I change the color and weight of the borderlines?
And finally, this is the first time I am using the Microsoft Community Forum. How will I be informed when someone answers my questions? Will I receive an email, or will I have to go back and check from time to time to see if someone has posted an answer?
Many thanks! Not only for the swift reply but the detailed instructions.
With regards to (1), I wish they'd be a little more consistent. Most of the time when you want to format something, you right-click it. Here you must double-click it.

Again, I'm new to this forum. My question has been fully answered. Is there some way of marking this question as resolved, and the issue closed?

Mike_Agranoff , here is no "Resolved" option, "Best response" is used instead. That's not exactly the same, but more or less close.

1) Double click on X-asis (or select Format X-axis) and in right pane select
2) Select Format Data Series and apply desired format to Markers (these cycles) or disable them at all
3) Select Format Axis and define Minor Units for desired Minor Gridlines steps
after that allow minor gridlines
4) Double click on border (or select Format Plot Area) and format the border as desired
Please check some changes in attached file.
By default you shall receive email with notification about every new post in conversation you take part.
