Close, resize and minimize buttons not visible, but functional. Excel 2019
I've tried all recommendations to make the buttons visible including doing a reinstall. Still having the problem. The rest of the top bar is visible.
Any ideas?

This also happens to me intermittently. Also, when it occurs, all of the text boxes that i may have created in all excel documents disappear. It occurs when I've had many excel documents open for a good portion of the day. Win 10 Pro, Office 2019 Pro. If I close all excel docs and re-open it is fine when re-opening. I have plenty of graphics, RAM, and Processor resources, all the processor is about 10 years old. Issue started summer/fall of 2025. Curious as to why as well.
Try the following:
- Quit Excel completely if it is currently active.
- Hold down the Ctrl key while you start Excel.
- Click Yes when asked whether you want to start Excel in Safe Mode.
Does the problem still occur?
I have just purchased a Dynabook laptop with Office 2021 and this happens in my Excel. I tried your suggestion starting in SafeMode and it did NOT change anything.
