2024 Release Wave 1 plans now available

Summary

The 2024 Release Wave 1 plans provide updates on new capabilities that will become available in the Business Applications Portfolio (Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform) starting in April 2024.

 

On January 25, Microsoft posted the Release Wave 1 plans to the public Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform release plans page which will be updated frequently with new products and features available to partners and customers. Microsoft Copilot for Service will be added to the release plans in February after General Availability on February 1, 2024.

 

Upon public availability, partners can:

• Provide customers visibility on what is coming next to plan for deployment
• Begin discussions to prepare for new capabilities
• Remind customers that the 2024 Release Wave 1 plans will be continually updated as new disclosures are made public

• Dynamics 365 Business Central focuses on Copilot-driven capabilities to improve productivity through enhanced reporting & data analysis, project & financial management, and simplified workflow automation.
• Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Data empowers organizations to unify and enhance customer data, leveraging AI for quick insights and democratized access to analytics.
• Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys empowers marketers with deeper customer understanding, ability to create new customer experiences within minutes; and granular lead qualification boosts synergy between sales and marketing.
• Dynamics 365 Customer Service helps agents to work more efficiently through Copilot filtering response verification, diagnostic tools, and usability improvements to multisession apps.
• Dynamics 365 Field Service transforms services organizations with the next generation of Copilot capabilities, Microsoft 365 integrations, vendor management, and Finance and Operations integration.
• Dynamics 365 Finance focuses on building intelligence, automation, and analytics around every business process to increase user productivity and business agility.
• Dynamics 365 Sales focuses on providing sellers timely customer information, expediting deals with actionable insights, improving productivity, and empowering organizations through open configurability and expanded generative AI leadership.
• Microsoft Copilot for Sales continues to deliver and enhance cutting-edge generative AI capabilities for sellers by enriching Copilot in M365 capabilities with sales specific skills, data and actions.
• Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management delivers new copilot skills to improve user experience, while demand planning transforms the forecast process, and warehouse processes are optimized for greater efficiency and accuracy.

 

Key highlights for Power Platform & Microsoft Copilot Studio:

• AI Builder invests in Prompt Builder for GPT prompts, Intelligent Document Processing, and AI Governance improvements.
• Microsoft Dataverse focuses on enhancing maker experience by improving app building productivity infused with Copilot experiences and seamless connectivity to external data sources.
• Power Platform Administration and Governance provides more tools and insights for Admins to manage their low code assets at scale and introduces new security capabilities.
• Microsoft Power Platform pro development offers a rich spectrum of extensibility points and tooling capabilities for code-first developers.
• Power Apps focuses on integrating Copilot to accelerate app development with AI and natural language, enhancing user reasoning and data insights in custom apps.
• Power Automate brings Copilot capabilities across cloud flows, desktop flows, and process mining.
