Allow form respondents to save and continue to fill the form later
My comment refers to this voting: https://microsoftforms.uservoice.com/forums/386451-welcome-to-microsoft-forms-suggestion-box/suggestions/18447406-allow-form-respondents-to-save-and-continue-to-fil
In our company we use sharepoint and MS 365 Business every day. MS Forms is very intuitive and esasy to handle, thats great! I made a long survey on sustainability topics to our members. Then I got feedback that in many cases more than one person in the adressed member companies have to work together according to their expertise... so they need the option to save the survey, send it to another colleague who can conitnue answering the question... Right now I have to look to alternative tools to fullfill this very important option. But I would prefer to continue my survey (where I already put more than one week of effort) in MS Forms. Is there already any timeline, when Mircrosoft will implement this function?
Best regards from Germany

Yeah, I ran into this earlier and unfortunately Microsoft Forms doesn’t really support a proper “save and continue later” option. If someone is signed in with their organization account, sometimes their progress might get saved automatically, but it’s not reliable and you can’t depend on it. For external users, there’s no option at all. If they close the form midway, their responses are usually lost. What most people do instead is keep the form short so it can be completed in one go, or ask users to prepare their answers beforehand. So for now, there’s no proper built-in way to let respondents save and continue later in Microsoft Forms

Yeah, I looked into this before and unfortunately Microsoft Forms doesn’t really have a proper “save and continue later” feature. If users are signed in within the same organization, their progress might get saved automatically in some cases, but it’s not something you can fully depend on. For external users, there’s no option at all. If they close the form or leave midway, their responses usually don’t get saved. What most people do instead is keep the form short so it can be completed in one go, or ask users to prepare their answers before starting. So yeah, right now there’s no reliable built-in way to let respondents save and continue later in Microsoft Forms.

Has the “save & resume” feature been added?! It seems insane that it would take so long to make that happen. It is a simple feature that I assume many people expect as an option!! Get it together microsoft
- dsantos270Copper ContributorDingkunXie agreed with one of the other commenters below - we've been asking for this feature for 4, going on 5, years and your response has been the same.
I still really need the feature, but either take our feedback and implement a save feature or let us know that MS isn't going to ever prioritize this and close this thread so we can all move on with our lives.- DingkunXie
Microsoft
There are a couple of ways to prioritize your request regarding this feature with the Product Team. One option is to submit your request at https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/0ab9de26-ff1b-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472. Another option is to ask your admin to generate a support ticket with the Product Team, including priority business justifications.

Hi, Matthias1234
Here is new option "Allow respondents edit their responses".

Have you tried it yet?

thanks for your message. When I click on your link, I got this:
I tried to make a Forms formular with "save and edit/send later", but I cannot find this Button/Option. How exactly does it work?
Im looking forward to read from you.
Best regards,
Matthias

Matthias1234 in your Form click Settings then select the "Allow respondents to edit their responses" checkbox:

Matthias1234 - I completely agree. This a very useful addition and will help to elevate this product to similar functionality as Survey Monkey or Gravity Forms. Unfortunately, because of this limitation I have to pick and choose when to use MS Forms and when to use Gravity/Survey Monkey (which isn't ideal when looking for uniformity).

From what I can see, if the respondent simply closes the tab or even the browser, upon opening the form's link again, (s)he's taken back to the first question of the form but responses are still there. Not an intuitive way to "save & resume" but it may be an acceptable workaround in some contexts. What do you think ?

Jon_Kay I'm disappointed a "save and return" function hasn't been implemented after being requested for such a long time. I want to use MS Forms because it's seamless at my organization, but as others have mentioned, I'll need to resort to SurveyMonkey.
- KarllightCopper ContributorI too would like to see a Save and Continue Later option added to MS Forms - especially since they've been integrated somewhat into MS Teams.
- daveb10Copper ContributorMicrosoft Customer Voice, which is the old Forms Pro, has this feature.

Another perfect example of Microsoft launching an underwhelming product to business customers and doing no further development on it.
Why not a simple option to save and resume? So easy to implement for 365 users who are signed in, partial responses tied with their account. But it seems no-one at MS considered this a useful feature to implement and need it to be pointed out by Joe Bloggs (over a year and a half ago in this case).
Keep up the good work guys!
