January 2022 Quality Update Breaks VPN Connections
A couple forum posts: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Security-SD-WAN/Client-VPN-Error-After-January-Windows-Updates/m-p/137114 https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/s1oqv8/kb5009543_january_11_2022_breaks_l2tp_vpn/ These clearly outline the issue with the latest updates breaking VPN connectivity for many Meraki VPN systems (and perhaps others). Rolling back the update resolves the issue. A couple questions for the Windows update team: 1. Any idea when Microsoft will be able to review, confirm and correct this issue? 2. If Microsoft were to release a fix for this part way through the month, how would you typically recommend this get deployed? Windows update for Business doesn't allow us to control/deploy anything other than the Feature and Quality updates. Is the recommendation to just remain unpatched until the February Quality update catches things up and presumably includes a fix for the VPN issue?SolvedBrianG-PPNJan 12, 2022Brass Contributor57KViews10likes31CommentsImportant: Windows client roadmap update

We are very excited to announce an upcoming opportunity to 'Ask Microsoft Anything' (AMA) about Windows as a service! The AMA will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT in the Windows as a service AMA space. An AMA is a live online event similar to a "YamJam" on Yammer or an "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit. The Windows as a service AMA will give you the opportunity to connect with members of the Windows product and engineering teams, who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback. Don't forgot to add the event to your calendar. We hope to see you there!Heather_PoulsenApr 19, 2017Community Manager11KViews7likes0CommentsNew revision documentation
When releasing a new version of Windows 10 can it be accompanied with detailed documentation about new/changed/deprecated features, especailly those that could impact applications e.g. API, security models, features? Reason being that with 160k+ machines, 3000+ applications and 3000+ internal/external websites used daily, we need to provide our developer/application owner community with as much information as possible. This is going to be key to maintaining the cadence of the CBB releases.Rich ReadMay 04, 2017Brass Contributor2.1KViews6likes5CommentsCelebrating the anniversary of Microsoft 365 admin center!
A little over a year ago, Windows release heath and Windows message center content were integrated into the Health section of the Microsoft 365 admin center. And the experience keeps evolving. In case you missed it, here are two recent improvements: Message center posts about Windows are now returned via the Service Comms Graph API. Now, just like with other Microsoft 365 products and services, you can enable custom workflows for administrators to review, assign, and triage communications about Windows from the message center. Your organization's apps can access the Windows communications data on behalf of a signed-in user, or without any signed-in user in the tenant, if you set up the appropriate delegated or application permissions. For more information on access tokens, app registration, and delegated and application permissions, see Authentication and authorization basics.
