Notifications for SharePoint news on desktop teams client - Best Practices?
Hello Community, I have a customer that has a SharePoint Intranet . They have many, many sites and a home site. On the home site the news from all sites are aggregated. This works fine. They also see the news in viva connections. This works fine. They get notifications about new news on their mobile phones. This works fine. But they don't get any notifications in the activity feed in teams if there is a new SharePoint news on any of the sites. (Like you get a notification if someóne sends an announcement in Viva Engage) I did not find any information about such a feature. I mean I could alway build a flow or something like that. This would be easy, if I only had one SharePoint site with news, but I have many sites. And the customer does not want the news to create teams messages, but just to create an activty item. I am pretty sure this is doable with a flow, but that seems to be quire complicated. For the Requirement: "Notify me in teams if there is a new SharePoint news" How would you deal with such a requirement? Any Ideas? Best Regards, Sven

VIVA Connections & SharePoint
When setting up VIVA Connections with a connections experience, you are required to make this a home site for it to be visible on the Connections app in Teams. What I can't see to find clarity on is the below - If a company has an existing SharePoint homepage that everyone accesses will that be changed when the new experience is set as the home page or does it depend on who it is targeted to?

Use announcements in Viva Connections
Hi, does anyone know the error shown in the attachment "A problem occurred while sending the announcement. Please try again." ? All users have a Viva Suite license, and the creator has owner rights on the SharePoint page. I am looking forward to the exchange with you.

Role assignment to non administrators
Hi All How can one assign permissions for non-admin users to setup viva connections without granting them SP Admin? Our internal comms department will be responsible for certain tasks to setup viva connections for our organization, but we can't give them admin roles. Thanks

Viva Home cannot be a home because of the wrong template
With a recently created tenant, I got a lovely VivaHome site by default and it was initially set a Home Site. The address was https://TENANT.sharepoint.com/sites/VivaHome. However, VivaHome is a SITEPAGEPUBLISHING#0. The Home Site setting requires the site to be Communication site template. My question here is philosophical: Why? What's the point of VivaHome? All opinions are welcome

Viva Connection app not displaying some cards cards
So, I am trying to get the viva connections app setup and working in teams. I have a couple main issues. 1. Some cards just don't want to display. For example, the Insights praise card, in the designer I get a message saying praise isn't turned on, when I publish the card just has spinning icon and eventually seems to time out. Notem this is just in teams. If I go to the SharePoint page on the web, and view the dashboard, it is fine. Even when designing I don't get such errors and praise not being enabled. 2. The viva connection menu, just shows a spinning circle. I don't get link to the other viva apps. even though they are installed already in my teams, I can browse to them. If I switch to the "new" team's experience. I have tried clearing cache, etc. If I switch to the "new" teams experience it works better (mainly the menu). But I still have issues, for example the cards are still a mess. hoping someone has some thoughts.

Can I enable Viva Connection Notifications on Teams Dekstop as well?
I am currently building a SPO Intranet which I connected Viva Connections with. So whenever I create a News Site, I receive a Push Notification on Teams Mobile. This looks as follows: So far so good. So my question is, if I can enable those Notifications on Teams Desktop as well or is this currently exclusive to Teams Mobile? So far I couldn't find an option to solve my question.

Is there a way to see which SharePoint site Viva Connections is tied to?
I have a situation where we need to assign owners and members for Viva Connections, however it was set up without a home site and we don't know which site was created when it was edited for the first time. Does anyone know how to find out what the SharePoint site is?
