How to stop post content in Viva Engage to sending emails to the whole company

Loving having a New Viva engage community but trying to figure out a way to determine who gets new posts to the community . Currently it sends out to everyone which then looks like spam. I want to keep engagement but cannot have it sending the email to the whole company as we create new communities.

Can someone help?

Some users not able to add personal dashboard card

We are getting feedback that some users are not able to add the personal quick links card in the dashboard. I have gone through it with one of the users where they click the customize button, add the card, add a link and save it. But when they go back to the dashboard it is no longer there. We have tried it in the dashboard in teams and in the browser, we have tried to do a hard refresh but it is gone. Also when they go to customize the dashboard again it is gone and they can try to add it again (still not working).

This happens for some users, while other users have no problems adding the card.

Any suggestions how to fix this?

Theme reverting to default blue

Hi. We have recently (in the past week) noticed an issue with our branding in the Connections app within MS Teams desktop and web, where our custom theme keeps reverting to a default blue colour. Refreshing the page does not fix the issue. Our chosen theme only reappears when a user navigates to another tab (e.g. Activity, Chat, Calendar) and then returns to the Connections tab.

The colour theme works as expected when accessing Connections outside of Teams (e.g. via SharePoint).

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or know a potential cause/fix?

users can't rearrange cards

my understanding is that end-users are supposed to be able to drag the cards around and hide them, and I have the option enabled... but the option doesn't seem to be available to the users.
- no customize button, can't drag to rearrange.

What am I missing?

Change the logo across all platforms

Hi, is there a way to change the Viva Connections icon across all platforms? We have updated it in Teams, but are having trouble updating it elsewhere (like through office.com). We would like the new icon to appear consistently across all Viva Connections experiences. Is there any method to achieve this? Thanks in advance!

401 Unauthorized error in MS Teams

When a news post is published in our intranet in Sharepoint, a MS Teams notification is sent from the system to all colleagues who are used to collaborating (they are in his “circles” according to VIVA Insights) with the author of the post.
Although the publication is successful and the link to the news post is active, sometimes those who click on the notification from MS Teams receive a “401 Unauthorized” error message that makes the post unviewable from MS Teams.

In the past we fixed this issue on the specific client by clearing the Teams cache, but we have more than 6000 clients...
This creates a flaw in the user experience that we need to fix. Thanks!

Viva connections for mobile "Home page" button

So in Viva Connections for mobile you have this small button at the top of the dashboard tab.

This button opens an internal browser inside viva connections to the organization's home page.

Can this button be customizable? can we remove it completely?

I'm asking because this "internal browser" opened is Google's Chrome, which is blocked by our CA policy, that allows only edge browsers for company's resources. And when our employees click this button they get an error.

Viva Connections sends reoccurring notifications to Teams

In our global SharePoint Online intranet we have set all country sites as Official news sites and targeted news for each country. The problem with Viva Connections notifications in Teams occurs in one of the country sites: people who belong to the target group receive at least 4 notifications per news post (1 or 2 per day) saying "Review important news from your organization".

This site is multilingual so there are 8 language versions for each news post. Do Viva Connections send a notification from each language version separately? However, people do not get 8 notifications - just 2 to 5 notifications per news post.

This is very annoying and we receive a lot of complaints. Why do we receive this kind of reoccurring notifications and what can we do to prevent them?

From all other sites we receive just regular notifications (1 per news post) saying "<Someone> published news"

Is it possible to modify the layout on viva connection experience ?

Translated Viva Connections dashboard cards work as duplicates

We currently face the issue, that our translated dashboard cards in the translated dashboard.aspx work as duplicates. So when we make changes in a translated dashboard card, the changes also show up in the original language - which doesn't make sense at all. To build the translated dashboard completely from scratch can't be the solution, right?

Scheduled news page showing in Teams before being published in SharePoint

Search in Viva Connections rapidly slowed down

Hi,
first of all, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, so if not, i really apalogise if this does not belong here.

Our company helped one of our customers do deploy Viva Connections.
It mostly worked fine, but then one issue appeard. They have two cards there - Search for users and Search through intranet. What happened is that when anyone tries to search for anything, it takes between 20 and 30 seconds to load. It is supposed, and it was, load within 5 seconds or so.

I haven't find what could cause the issue since it looks like that's the only appear of this kind of an issue.

Have anyone seen anything like this?

Notifications for SharePoint news on desktop teams client - Best Practices?

Hello Community,

I have a customer that has a SharePoint Intranet . They have many, many sites and a home site. On the home site the news from all sites are aggregated. This works fine.
They also see the news in viva connections. This works fine.
They get notifications about new news on their mobile phones. This works fine.

But they don't get any notifications in the activity feed in teams if there is a new SharePoint news on any of the sites. (Like you get a notification if someóne sends an announcement in Viva Engage)

I did not find any information about such a feature.

I mean I could alway build a flow or something like that.
This would be easy, if I only had one SharePoint site with news, but I have many sites.
And the customer does not want the news to create teams messages, but just to create an activty item.

I am pretty sure this is doable with a flow, but that seems to be quire complicated.
For the Requirement: "Notify me in teams if there is a new SharePoint news"

How would you deal with such a requirement? Any Ideas?

When SharePoint page is promoted to Viva Engage, Viva Connection web part not showing all content

Page is promoted to Viva Engage and in Viva Engage the post is there.

When its picked up by Viva Connections web part on our home page. The entry doesn't show the content, the thumbnail image, title and description aren't showing.

How to remove the banner section from the ViVa Connections page.

Issues integration viva connections in Ms Teams

Hello all,

We're currently experiencing an issue in SharePoint online used through Viva connections in Teams. The issue is visible in both the desktop as web application.

When we open sites via Viva connections we're able to see content and documents on pages but when we use the horizontal navigation bar to navigate to certain folders we're seeing a blank screen in Teams in the desktop and browser. In SharePoint online we don't see this issue.

Viva connections icon change in Teams mobile app shows blank square

Hello,

Last week we setup our SPO intranet site as a home site set as the default experience in Viva Connections in MS Teams. Whilst this works well in the desktop app, when using the Teams mobile app a custom icon we've deployed, doesn't show and instead just shows this blank square as highlighted below:

Is this happening because the teams mobile app doesn't support custom icons? or have we missed something in the Viva Connections configuration to get the custom icon deployed correctly to the teams mobile app?

What are the image dimensions when you use the image layout option for the Card Designer or Web link cards?
