Mixed Reality Link: Controllers are not working, I can only watch the screen
Is this expected behavior in V72 and Mixed Reality Link App from Windows Store that my Quest 3s Controllers cannot click and interact in my Windows 11 or Windows 365 Cloud PC?SolvedragnarheilDec 23, 2024Copper Contributor603Views4likes5Comments'Connection dropped by windows 11 5001' error :(
When I see the icon above my Windows 11 keyboard and press connect, my laptop screen goes blank for a few seconds and I get the error 'Connection dropped by windows 11 : 5001' error :( I have unpaired and repaired the windows laptop and I have run the Meta setup.msi several times... the connection just keeps dropping. I am using a MS Surface Pro X, connected to my Meta Quest 3 512gb running the Latest V72 PTC. I checked the compatibility and all looked good on install on both devices.....DomdedomdomdomDec 11, 2024Copper Contributor1.5KViews4likes22CommentsCan no longer install Mixed Reality Link
(for context, I am using a Galaxy Book4 Edge (ARM) on the latest non-Insider Version of Windows) I already had Mixed Reality Link installed on my Laptop and it worked perfectly fine, it paired with my Quest 3S and displayed an Image no problem. A few weeks ago the App would no longer open, it wouldn't display any error and no window would show (needless to say, I couldn't get the Headset to connect either). Repairing or resetting the App through the Settings App didn't do anything, so I tried to reinstall it. Windows showed the App as being installed, while Microsoft Store said it wasn't installed, so that could've been my first hint that something weird was going on. I tried to uninstall the App, it would say that it was uninstalling but do nothing. So I tried just to reinstall, and it wouldn't do it. It would download the app no problem but then at 100% with the text "almost ready" (I guess that's what it's saying in English, my Laptop is set to German) it would fail stating "An Error occured. We are aware of the problem and trying to fix it. Please try again later" with error code 0X80073B2F. Googling this error code only resulted in SQL server express errors, Windows update errors and other MS-Store error codes, which didn't provide a solution. So I did, I tried again later, first a few hours later, then a few days, but the error persistet. I thought that maybe the issue was that it was still kinda installed. Trying to fix it, I removed the Appx-Package from an elevated Powershell, but that didn't help either, Mixed Reality Link was no longer broken in my start menu (as in, it was now uninstalled) but trying to reinstall it it would throw exactly the same error. I also tried installing via Winget but that had the same issue and threw the same Error code. Note that other MS-Store apps can be installed no problem. I'm kinda at a loss of what could be the issue. I'd be grateful for any help. Edit: after a bit more troubleshooting I noticed that 0x8007 errors relate to Appx deployment, however 0x80073B2F wasn't documented at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/appxpkg/troubleshooting#common-error-codes. Through a bit more digging I found out that certutil can provide help information for Appx error codes, so, expecting nothing, I ran certutil -error 0x80073b2f and this actually produced the following output: 0x80073b2f (WIN32: 15151 ERROR_PRI_MERGE_ADD_FILE_FAILED) -- 2147957551 (-2147009745) together with the explanation (roughly translated): "One of the PRI files couldn't be added to the merged file". Now, of course, ERROR_PRI_MERGE_ADD_FILE_FAILED isn't documented anywhere and the error message isn't particularly helpful ever. I found out PRI files have something to do with indexing but that didn't help me. So, I'm once again stuck without any real progress.SolvedJuff-MaAug 06, 2025Copper Contributor247Views3likes5CommentsCan't Pair Quest 3 to Windows 11 PC
Hi, I'm using a Dell Latitude 5540 (13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1365U 1.80 GHz). Windows 24H2. This comes with Intel Iris Xe so it meets the minimum requirements. Same Wifi network (5Ghz), same subnet, same gateway. I've got Mixed Reality Link installed on my PC. On My Quest 3 I've got both Remote Desktop & Windows App installed. When I look at my laptop, I get the Pair option. I click on it and click on Scan QR Code. I press Windows + Y on my pc to bring up my QR Code. I look at the QR code with my Quest (I've tried various distances from the screen, including right up close). I've also tried my laptop screen as well as an external display. It fails to pair and prompts me to try it again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps on both the PC & Quest. I've also restarted both devices. I've tried disabling Windows Firewall on my PC. Not sure what else to try?TiishangNDec 20, 2024Copper Contributor1.6KViews2likes7CommentsError 5001.3

With initial versions of Mixed Reality Link the remote display in the Meta Quest was looking great, crisp and big, but suddenly it stopped doing that. Since the latest update of Mixed Reality Link the display keeps the same resolution from my physical monitor, which makes it look squeezed and with big horizontal black bars in the Quest window. I recently had to re-install windows 11 fresh due to my PC getting corrupted by Microsoft's 24H2 Feature Update which was annoying enough, but now I am trying to re-install all my apps and I am trying to re-install the Mixed Reality Link software, however for some reason, I cannot find the app in the Microsoft Store https://aka.ms/mrlink : All I see when doing a search is: Why can't I find the app now and how can I get this back so I can link my Meta Quest 3s? Is there some issue with the Microsoft Store? Please help! I am pretty sure the quest 3s is just a quest 2's hardware with better cameras. so why can't I just use my quest 2? Thanks for alienating like, 36% of all vr users.SolvedChill_HillingtonDec 17, 2024Copper Contributor282Views1like3Comments
