Why isn't the Quest 2 supported on the new windows app, but Quest 3s is?

I am pretty sure the quest 3s is just a quest 2's hardware with better cameras. so why can't I just use my quest 2? Thanks for alienating like, 36% of all vr users.

I feel your pain. In real terms, i think they have focussed on the AR element, which includes delivering the screens within your physical environment as provided by the superior model 3 cameras... which of course, the quest 2 doesnt support due to the lower capability cameras. Thats the only reason i can think of that would stop them from being able to support the quest 2 with the windows app... just make the Q2 disable the AR background and give me a neutral or simple vr space.

I have a number of top tier Win365 machines that i use for work, which would be fantastic on my quest 2 - especially when my wife boots me from the office with 3 screens! I cant access the Win365 PCs properly without the windows app... Please MS - just make it available and allow us to render 3 screens on a basic or static background... That would be an absolute game changer for me.
