Can't Pair Quest 3 to Windows 11 PC

Hi, I'm using a Dell Latitude 5540 (13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1365U   1.80 GHz). Windows 24H2. This comes with Intel Iris Xe so it meets the minimum requirements.

Same Wifi network (5Ghz), same subnet, same gateway.

I've got Mixed Reality Link installed on my PC.
On My Quest 3 I've got both Remote Desktop & Windows App installed.

When I look at my laptop, I get the Pair option. I click on it and click on Scan QR Code. I press Windows + Y on my pc to bring up my QR Code. I look at the QR code with my Quest (I've tried various distances from the screen, including right up close). I've also tried my laptop screen as well as an external display.

It fails to pair and prompts me to try it again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps on both the PC & Quest. I've also restarted both devices. I've tried disabling Windows Firewall on my PC.

Not sure what else to try?

Yeah... Feb 2025 and this still does not work. The scale/resolution thing doesn't work.

Had the same issue. Go to your screen settings and make sure of :

    1. The scale option is 100% and not anything else
    2. The resolution is the recommenced one by windows.

After changing these two settings it connected in few seconds.

I presume that these change the layout of the qr code and is distorted enough to not be recognized.

Also, if you have a discrete gpu, make sure that both drivers are ok and that you are set on automated switch between the 2 gpus

Having the same issue, the quest is recognising that a QR code is there but no matter what its not registering as a working qr code, comes up 'QR code not recognised'

having the same issue tried reinstalling the MRLink app and changing the QR code by going back and adding another device but no matter what i try i still get the same error 'QR code not recognised' so the device is recognising there is a QR code but not that its an active one

It's the same for me, I also tried everything you said.
Even sending the QR to my phone to try using my phone screen. Maybe that works for you.

I do wish they did something about this because it had the same issue since v60 (scanning QR for wifi).
It seems to work for some users, which makes me think that something is faulty in our devices.
Did you buy your device shortly after release?

I bought mine in March, so not sure if it was part of the original batch.

You might be onto something with the hardware fault & QR codes - I sincerely hope you're wrong though. I'll test the wifi QR code and let you know - I haven't tried using that yet.
