Now in Public preview & Targeted release: A new experience to search within chat and channels
We are excited to announce the launch of a new and improved experience to search within Chats and New Channels experience. Key improvementsincludeenhanced captioning and keyword hit-highlighting for ease of consumption of results; embedded result set in the right rail for contextualconsumptionandintroduction of search on pop-out chats. Flighting status Started flighting. Rollout to public preview estimated to be complete by end of this week. How to enable This new feature would be auto-enabled as we start rolling it out. Note 1: If you need information about enabling the Public preview or Targeted release itself, see “Enable your Teams client for Public preview or Targeted release” section below. Note 2: Users who want to use this feature needs to be in Public Previewor Targeted release. Supported clients and platforms Windows macOS iOS Android Linux Chrome Firefox Safari Edge Yes Yes - - - Yes Yes Yes Yes How does this feature impact the existing experience? A few key enhancements include: 1) The new in-chat and in-channel Search experience will now be available in the right handrail, making it possible to see your chat/channel list and your new search results in one single view. The initiation can be done using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F (Win) or Cmd+F (Mac). Chat: Channel: Note: Search capability on the new Channels experience is currently available on the main view, and we will extend it to the conversation view soon. 2) In addition to the keyboard shortcut, a dedicated button ‘Find in Channel,’ placed on the channel infopane can be used to initiate contextual search: Note: we are working on bring the search entry point to the chat surface soon. 3) We now have introduced enhanced captioning and keyword highlighting to aid the discernment of results in chat and channel: 4) In-chat search will now also be available in pop-out chats. Known issues NA Known limitations Search capability on the new Channels experience is currently available on the main view, and we will extend it to the conversation view soon Enable your Teams client for the Public Preview or Targeted release To enable your Teams client for the Public Preview, IT administrators need to set an update policy that turns on Show preview features. For Targeted Release, global admins can go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and choose to give a selected set of individuals access to Targeted Release, or they can enroll the entire organization in Targeted Release. Teams Preview - Profile hover over not working
Hello, I am on the preview build of teams:23247.1112.2396.409 In a GCC tenant. Does anyone know if profile picture hover over will be fixed? If i hover over a picture/name of a person in teams, the profile card does not display like it does in regular teams.
Updated Preview no longer have access to Files
There was an update last week on the New Teams preview and my files (left ribbon bar) is no longer available. Switching the Try new teams to off it still shows correctly. I cleared my cache as well and that didn't fix the issue. Any ideas on what else I could try?
MS Teams meeting module toggleIncomingClientAudio not working
Dear Community, The new MS Teams function totoggle the incoming audio speaker setting for the meeting is not working.
