New student cannot be synced to SDS
Dear all, This year we got some issues, I found some of new students cannot be added to SDS. This issue is only happened in new students. Teachers, old students and courses can update successfully. I attached some pictures and file here. Here is one of the issue code. We checked the students email and username in PowerSchool, but we don’t find any questions. Hoping you can send me some suggestions to fix that. Student_8874. To resolve this error, update the target to include Student_8874 as a valid members or update the source object to match the list of values defined in the target for members. | Student_8874. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/create-users-for-k12-and-hed#prerequisites-for-sds mentions among the "perquisites to enable SDS for user creation" are School Data Sync (Plan 1) or School Data Sync (Plan 2). Microsoft Partners have access to documents that explain Office 365 Education Plan A1 includes School Data Sync (Plan 1) while both Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Education Plan A3 and A5 include School Data Sync (Plan 2). However, I can't find any details about the differences between the SDS plans on: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-education, which doesn't even mention SDS https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/microsoft-365-education https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/buy-license/microsoft365/ [EDIT] https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/licensing/product-licensing/microsoft-365-enterprise?activetab=m365-enterprise:primaryr7 mentions "School Data Sync Plan 2 (plan details can be found https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/)" - but there are no details about the plan there Does anyone know what the distinction is between School Data Sync (Plan 1) and School Data Sync (Plan 2)?Solved4.5KViews0likes2CommentsGroups are created by SDS but not teams
SDS works fine in that it creates groups but not teams. Teachers cannot see the groups to make teams from either even though they are owners of the group. Groups appear in assignments in the Teams app. What am I missing here.SolvedNickBeaginApr 03, 2020Copper Contributor10KViews0likes16CommentsSync Error
I keep getting the below sync error. I'm just testing, but the CSV files are very simple so I can't think what could be the problem. Anyone know what this means? Hello everyone - long time reader, first time asker here! A mistake has been made whereby we have used SDS to create Teams for every class in school, when in fact only select classes were supposed to be created. We have since updated the profile, but the original Teams remain... Now, I would like to remove the unused and unwanted Teams, but I have thus far been unsuccesful in doing so. 1. I generate a section report (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/whats-new-with-school-data-sync) and discarded teams which we want to keep. 2. I created a PowerShell script which I thought would https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/teams/remove-team?view=teams-ps thusly: connect-MicrosoftTeams remove-team -groupid "<groupID>" However, it returns an error remove-team : Error occurred while executing Code: Request_ResourceNotFound Message: Resource '<groupID>' does not exist or one of its queried reference-property objects are not present. I assume this is because the Team doesn't yet exist, at least, not until the teacher opens it for the first time. So, can anybody please guide me - how do I remove these unused and unwanted Teams?? Thank you in advance JBSolvedJonBowSep 27, 2018Copper Contributor3.3KViews0likes2CommentsSDS year changeover
Hi all, We are just getting to grips with SDS and hoping to really scale it up across many faculties in our school from September. I am wondering though, what happens at the end of a school year? Eg most of our courses are 2-3 year courses (though teachers might change). We don't want to put in the gorundwork to make an amazing team and class notebook for Y12, only to find that it all disappears as soon a we roll over to Y13. Nor will each teacher want to manually copy across each section of notes in Class Notebook. So.... my questions are: 1. What happens at the ending date for a group/when that group ceases to exist as the timetable changes? Does it disappear or is it archived somehow? 2. Can we map old groups to new groups (eg. 10A/English1 is now called 11A/English1, for example), so that there is no apparent change for staff/students? Thanks all!SolvedGiselle HobbsMar 20, 2018Copper Contributor1.6KViews0likes1CommentSDS syncs and groups are created but Teams are not
Are teams supposed to be automatically created when we sync a CSV file using SDS? The groups are created and the users are in the correct groups but Teams are not being automatically created and not visible when logged into Teams as a student. We would like to sync CSV-files periodically. Before the start of each period we would only list courses (sections) starting that period + teachers & students attending these courses on the CSV-files. Will the students and teachers from the classes (sections) of previous periods stay unchanged so that students are not removes from previous courses (sections) etc.?SolvedJarkko Seppo Tapani TornbergFeb 06, 2018Brass Contributor6KViews0likes14Comments
