End of Support for Exchange Summary
Just a summary of some of the important things you might want to know about End of Support for all things Exchange. Exchange Server 2010 - We pushed the date for the end of extended support from Jan 2020 to October 2020, and announced that here - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/microsoft-extending-end-of-support-for-exchange-server-2010-to/ba-p/753591 We have no plans to extend that any further, so if you still have Exchange Server 2010 in use - you need to get moving. It won't stop working in October but we won't be releasing any more updates, security or time zone patches. We also recently posted information to help decommission Exchange 2010 once you have removed all the mailboxes and public folders - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/best-practices-when-decommissioning-exchange-2010/ba-p/1247559 Exchange Online and Basic Authentication is another important one to know about. We will be turning off Basic Authentication in Exchange Online in the future. I'm looking at the Win and Office support matrix and Win Server 2022 and M365 Apps aren't supported. Can anyone explain why this is? It looks like Microsoft if going to remove the ability to host virtual desktop for clients and install M365 licensing on it. Hi, just a Question. Several Clients-Mailboxes we have already migrated to Exchange online. Currently they are still use Office 2010. Is Outlook 2010 able to authenticate the local Client to the Exchange online Environment after the Support has been stopp Oct. 2020? Answers would very appreciated. Thanks.
