[MS Edge Android] UI Glitch: Suggestions Misaligned in Bottom Search Bar Mode
Hi everyone! I'm experiencing a strange issue with the search suggestions when using bottom bar mode. In Microsoft Edge, there's a blank space between the input bar and the suggestions above it, as shown in the attached image (see the red line). Is anyone else seeing this bug? Any idea how to fix it? MS Edge - Sidebar and copilot not working on Linux Ubuntu v24 LTS
Sidebar not syncing or accepting new app additions (+). Copilot button is dead/inactive. Sidebar settings are well configured. Using the latest version of the Ubuntu OS and MS Edge. I recently upgraded to version140.0.3485.14 (Official build) beta (64-bit) and noticed that my PWA, even if they open correctly in a independent window, don't show the "running window counter" on the taskbar. So, for example, if a open Outlook, the window open and loads the app, but if a I click the icon again, it opens another window, wich is a little annoying. I tried removing the PWA from Edge, rebooting, and installing again, but didn't work. Because the only change I made is updating Edge, I think is related to this build. (too lazy to go back or install the stable release)
Unable to load workspaces
I have never been able to use Edge Workspaces on my main personal profile. I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps: Logged out and back in with my profile Downloaded Edge Canary and signed in there, but it doesn’t work on Canary either Cleared cache and cookies Reset Edge Resynced Reset sync data Checked that there is no “workspaces” folder in OneDrive I think the issue is clearly related to my account, because on my work account it all works perfectly. I am attaching the error log. How can I resolve this, if there is no way to reach assistance for personal free users? Thank you.Cast button in toolbar doesn't work anymore
I'm on a Windows 10 tablet and since a few weeks in all my 3 installations (Stable, Dev 141.0.3500.1 , Canary 141.0.3518.0) the cast button in the toolbar doesn't work anymore. Only option I have now to initiate casting is with: Menu-Button => More Tools => Cast Media, which is quite annoying. Could someone from the developer team please take a look into that? Thanks in advance!
Chrome extension managed storage policy
Hi there, I've developed a chrome extension and now we want to deploy it using Intune. Force install of extension works great but I can't pass managed data to the extension. Here is the scheme: { "type": "object", "properties": { "apiKey": { "title": "API Key", "description": "An API key to communicate with server.", "type": "string" } } } This is the policy that I created in Intune: OMA-URI: ./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Chrome~Policy~googlechrome~3rdparty~extensions~eagefwefpbjpewefliifpgfgoewfknnmk~policy Data type: String Value: {"apiKey":"mykey123"} But it doesn't appear in chrome://policy and when I get policies in my code with: const result = await chrome.storage.managed.get(null); The result is empty! What is the problem here? And how to fix it?
How to disable confirmation pop-up in Edge Browser when opening many tabs
I have bookmarks arranged in multiple folders, varying from 10 to 500 or more links per folder. Whenever I try to click on the bookmark folder to open all of them at once, I always get this Pop-up, which is very annoying to me (I was ignoring that pop-up for more than a year). Is there any built-in setting to disable or increase the limit? P.S: FYI, I am on a very high-end laptop(M4 pro with increased RAM & SSD) and due to my use case, I have to regularly, almost every day open many links
Feature Request: Role-Based Separation in Microsoft Edge
Description: As a professional who wears multiple hats — Operations, Architecture, Courseware, etc. — I rely heavily on Microsoft Edge to organize my digital workspace. While Edge Profiles offer some separation, they fall short when it comes to true contextual isolation. Signing into multiple profiles with the same Microsoft account causes bookmarks, extensions, and settings to merge, defeating the purpose of separation and creating privacy and productivity issues. Proposal: Introduce a “Roles” feature within a single Edge identity that allows users to create and switch between distinct work contexts without data bleed. Each role would have: Isolated bookmarks, tab groups, and workspace layouts Optional shared elements like passwords, extensions, and history A simple checkbox interface to control what syncs across roles Role-specific visibility for presentations or shared environments (e.g., hiding personal bookmarks during a Teams meeting) Benefits: Enables professionals to maintain clean separation between responsibilities Reduces risk of accidental data exposure in meetings or shared devices Improves productivity by allowing seamless context switching Minimizes time spent managing profiles and recovering from sync mishaps Use Case Example: Operations role: synced with work account, full access to enterprise tools Architecture role: isolated bookmarks and tabs for design tools Courseware role: focused on LMS platforms and training resources This feature would be a game-changer for professionals who need role-based organization without the overhead and risk of managing multiple profiles.Flickering / brightness changes when hovering mouse over parts in browser window.
Hi, Don't know if I've come to the right place to ask/report this, but: In Edge (and Chrome) I have some annoying flickering issues lately. I'm running Edge in dark-mode and in a window (not fullscreen). To reproduce I'm opening a new tab (only search bar on page visible) with the dark background. When hovering the mouse over the favorites bar, address bar, clicking outside the Edge window (on desktop) or make some other movements, the Edge screen flickers a bit (not continuously but on certain moments). Like it's gamma/brightness changes randomly on certain moments. I also had a Teams video meeting on top of the Edge window (so Teams had a smaller window) and that made the visible bottom part of the Edge window flicker a lot. Its really disturbing. I've updated graphics drivers and even monitor firmware and turned of local-dimming, but nothing helps. It is only happening in Chrome and Edge. Not in a dark File Explorer window or Firefox. However, I discovered the issue is not present when turning off "Use Hardware Acceleration When Available" or in edge://flags setting "Choose ANGLE graphics backend" to "D3D9". I really hope this can be fixed (unless it's an Intel GPU bug) because it's extremely annoying. Or maybe I should buy a discrete GPU and hope that fixes it. Hello. I have an issue with my MSI GE75 laptop running Windows 11 with an RTX 2070. When I use a second monitor Dell connected via HDMI, content inside Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome starts flickering and lagging. Firefox works fine on the same setup. The laptop is MSI GE75 with RTX 2070 and Intel iGPU. The second monitor is a Dell. Browsers affected are Edge and Chrome. Browser not affected is Firefox. I set Edge and Chrome to run on the RTX 2070 in Windows graphics settings. All drivers are updated. All settings are on maximum. The issue is flickering and micro freezes while scrolling or playing videos on the second monitor. This does not happen on the main laptop display. I already tried switching Edge and Chrome to High performance GPU RTX 2070 in Windows settings with no effect. I updated NVIDIA and Intel drivers with no effect. I disabled hardware acceleration in Edge and Chrome which reduces the issue but performance drops. I set both monitors to the same refresh rate 60 Hz but the problem persists. Since the problem only happens with Chromium based browsers and only on the second monitor, I suspect it could be related to how Microsoft rendering pipeline interacts with Chromium hardware acceleration. Firefox which uses a different rendering backend works fine. My questions are: Why does this only happen with Chromium based browsers but not Firefox? Is this related to how Windows and Chromium handle GPU acceleration on a second monitor? Is there a known fix or workaround to make Edge and Chrome work properly on the second monitor? Hello. How do I disable the high contrast theme in Edge 138+? but not disable on Windows 10/11. I currently have the official build 140. I managed to disable high contrast for websites, but the Edge GUI is still completely white and gray. Before build 138, it was possible to change the theme, but since build 138, it's not possible? Is this Google's or Microsoft's idea? and how to fix it? because I want to install classic theme from Edge/Chrome store.
How to set the ozone platform hint flag
I have a laptop with a high-res screen, running Ubuntu 22.04 and fractional scaling enabled at 175%. This works nicely for Wayland applications, but XWayland/Xorg applications become blurry. In chrome and chromium I can make the browser use Wayland by setting the flag chrome://flags/#ozone-platform-hint to "auto", but this flag seems to be missing in Edge. I noticed I can launch successfully edge from the terminal with --ozone-platform-hint=auto, and I played a bit with updating the .desktop file Exec command's to include this, but this would break PWA's I have installed such that they no longer appear as dedicated applications. Any one know any good work-arounds? And if anyone from the Edge product/development team reads these discussions then please consider this a feature request to add the missing flag 😄Microsoft Edge/MSN Ads on videos has forced me to stop using it
I cannot believe that Microsoft Edge's home page (MSN) now inserts commercial ads into most every video article it posts. As I try to watch the article, ads now pop up, frequently more than one. It forces me to either sit through watching the ads to read some mundane article or close the video and get off the browser. I am soooo sick of advertising trying to get me to spend money on some stupid product. I have now found myself closing the browser and not using Edge/MSN most of the time now. What a waste. At least Firefox and Google have not started doing this (yet). Has anyone else found this to be true?Edge Dev Version 137.0.3255.0 (64-bit) corrupted extensions
-After upgrade to latest version Edge Dev is reporting many extensions as being corrupt. -Repairing individually also does not resolve the issue, the entry disappears in Extension settings. -Extension icon on taskbar show as blue jigsaw piece instead of default Extension icon. -Fresh install of latest dev version also behaves similarly. -When trying to install extension from MSoft store get Error message below:
