No acces to local Office365 apps with an account which differs from the current windows account
Hi, guys! I'm working with Windows 11 Pro using the Microsoft account ABC. Today I bought a Office 365 Family License - by using another Microsoft account XYZ. I downloaded the local apps successfully... ...but when I start the local app and tried to sign in using the XYZ account, I'm asked for the Windows Hello Pin for the XYZ account - but there is no PIN for that, because the account doesn't exist as a Windows account at this computer at all. Copilot says: "You can sign in to Windows 11 with one Microsoft account and use a different Microsoft 365/Office account for Office applications. Microsoft supports this setup." What did I wrong - what can I do? Kind regards! Sebastian
Uploading PDFs into Whiteboard
With the retirement of the whiteboard app, my company now has to use the web and teams version exclusively. We like to make use of the app specifically because you can upload high quality PDFs on to the board. However, this feature isn’t available on the web and teams version. Are there any plans for the existing versions to have the option to upload locally saved PDFs?
Onenote cannot search for handwriting
I have a problem where my Microsoft OneNote cannot search for ink/handwriting, though it used to be searchable. It can search for text but not handwritten notes. My friend who just downloaded OneNote is able to do so, while my other friend who has used OneNote for years is also unable to search for handwriting. Interestingly, I can search for a 5-year old handwriting on a single section of a notebook, but new handwritings on a new section of that notebook is unsearchable. After writing on that page, it rendered handwriting on that page unsearchable, including the words that used to be searchable. I am using: Windows 11 version 25H2 desktop app, Onenote web (tried writing on both too) I have tried: Lasso tool > treat ink as > handwriting OneNote is synced to OneDrive Attempting to delete and redownload (couldn't fully delete OneNote) File > Options > Advanced > Pen > Enable automatic handwriting recognition Making a new notebook Searching handwritings from different ages. Handwritings from 6 months ago, and days ago cannot be searchable. Deleted cache Repaired Microsoft 365 Rebuilt windows search indexAll Office add-ins broken after Windows update
**All Office add-ins broken after Windows update — "Access denied to catalog" on Microsoft 365 Family (Word, Windows 11 Pro)** All Office add-ins stopped working on my machine this week, immediately following a Windows update. They had been working normally the week before. **Symptoms** 1. Home > Add-ins > More Add-ins > My Add-ins returns: **"Access denied to catalog."** 2. Attempting to load any add-in returns: **"ADD-IN ERROR — You don't have permission to use this add-in. Contact your system administrator to request access."** 3. Status bar intermittently shows: **"Error loading add-ins — One or more add-ins failed to load."** This affects **every** add-in, not one publisher. I first noticed it with Claude for Microsoft 365, but no add-in from any vendor will load, and the catalog itself won't enumerate. **Environment** - Microsoft 365 Family (consumer subscription — there is no tenant and no administrator to contact) - Windows 11 Pro - Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2608 Build 16.0.20326.20072) 64-bit - Microsoft account uses a custom domain address **Troubleshooting already completed — please don't re-suggest these** - Privacy settings verified: "Turn on all connected experiences," "Experiences that analyze your content," and "Experiences that download online content" are all enabled and **not** greyed out - Cleared the add-in cache at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef\ - Signed out of and back into the Microsoft account inside Word - Office fully updated via File > Account > Update Options - Refreshed the Admin Managed tab in the add-ins pane - **Online Repair of Microsoft 365 completed**, followed by a reboot — error persists on a brand new blank document - Confirmed no work or school account under Settings > Accounts > Access work or school **What I'm asking** Since a clean reinstall of the client did not change the behavior, this looks service-side rather than local. Specifically: 1. Is there a known regression in the recent Windows/Office update affecting the add-in catalog request on consumer subscriptions? 2. "Access denied to catalog" implies an identity or entitlement check failing upstream. Is there a way to see what identity the desktop client is actually presenting to the catalog service? 3. My Microsoft account is a custom-domain address. If that domain has ever had a Microsoft 365 tenant associated with it, could the client be resolving my identity against that tenant and inheriting its Office Store policy, despite my license being Family? I contacted Microsoft Support by chat; the agent confirmed the issue appears broader than a single add-in and referred me here. Happy to provide screenshots, build numbers, or logs. Thanks in advance.
Microsoft 365 Outlook Classic Latest Update Copilot issues
Hello to all, we are currently using the Microsoft 365 Outlook Classic, using version Version 2604 Build 16.0.19929.20172 (Current Channel) Copilot works as expected; However ever since the next update was released (Version 2605 (Build 20026.20076)) some users including me, have been getting the below error: I have tried uninstalling and installing the latest version directly, with the same issue. Scanned for any corrupted system files with no issues, but still get the error; I have tried the update Licence from the Outlook application, with no issues but the copilot something went wrong error keeps on persisting. Internet searches are very vague and the I have found some registry suggestions which I have also tried with no solution. The only way to get Copilot working on Outlook Classic was to revert to a previous working version, only then Copilot works as expected. This only happens in Outlook Classic; Copilot works fine on the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 with Word, Excel, etc. For those that maybe might ask why not switch to the New Outlook, we have had issues with it and it has been recommended to use the Classic Outlook for the time being. Has anyone been experiencing such issues please? Thanks for any help.
Office 365 issues
We have an end user that started with us approximately a year ago. Shortly after he started he began noticing that his status would go away on a fairly regular basis on MS Teams. We tried uninstall/reinstall, resetting, repairing and the problem persisted. Since he was a relatively new hire we were thinking it was something with his laptop so we replaced and the issue returned. Turned in a ticket with our Office 365 vendor who in turn opened a ticket with Microsoft. After some initial testing they sent a Teams install file that seemed to fix the issue. Since that time he has regularly had issues with Teams disconnecting, Outlook just stop receiving emails, while showing connected. Typically the only fix was a restart and on some occasions that did not work. Sometimes a reset or repair might fix this issue. Throughout this we did clear credential manager, caches, etc...This got a point yesterday where I created a new user profile for him, basically like a new laptop and it temporarily fixed the Teams and Outlook issue, however when attempting to sign into MS Edge it would just spin and had to use task manager to close the app. Tried a repair on the app as you cannot uninstall and same result it would hang up and have to forcibly closed. Just wondering if someone else has encountered something like this and possible fixes. Thanks
My printers don't work after I reinstalled Microsoft 365
I recently had to reinstall Microsoft 365. The software now works quite well, but I can't print a document in Microsoft Word or from anywhere in Windows 11. I have two printers: an HP Envy Inspire 7900e AIO and a Brother HL-L2420DW. Both printers worked before the reinstall, and both printers work without any problems on the Mac side of my laptop. (I use a Mac with Parallels to run Windows 11.) When I try to print from MS-Word in Windows 11, I select a printer from the list in the Print dialog. Then I have to wait for a printer connection. A few seconds later, I get a notice that the printer is "in an error state." My first thought was that I'll have to reinstall my printers in Windows 11, but I went looking for help. An AI helper I've consulted a few times walked me through a labyrinth of steps to fix the problem. The steps involved using the Command prompt or PowerShell (Administrator), but so far I've not had any luck. Seems to me I'll do as well by simply removing and reinstalling the printers. But that thought brings up more questions. I installed both printers using the manufacturer's instructions. For example, the HP AIO I installed with the full-feature software. My question: Do I need to do anything special before I reinstall the printers? Do I simply go to Printers & Scanners and delete my printers and then reinstall them? Also, will any of this affect these same printers on the Mac side?
