I had planned to use the People web part (see attached) on the modern page to list a contact person. Then I discovered it only provides a name, title, and the circle (with initials or picture). Are there plans to have it link to profiles so one can hover or click on the name to get more information, e.g. email, phone number?Solved36KViews0likes63CommentsAny way to reduce the height of a hero web part?
I've currently got a modern communication site that's using a full-width column and a hero web part for displaying news tiles. By default, the hero web part is extremely large. I'd like it to take up the full width of the page but not be so large in height. Below the hero web part are some other web parts I've added, but the user is forced to scroll down to view these due to the hero web part's size. I'd like a page where everything is visible without the user having to scroll. I've added a screenshot to show what I mean, ignore the blur as this is just to keep the content private. Is it possible to manually modify the size in any way? Thanks31KViews0likes5CommentsSharePoint modern news webpart "something went wrong"
Hi everyone, the news webpart in list and carousel mode doesn't show the news items that exist, unless you specify them explicitly using the "organize" function of web part. What this means is that the most recently added webpart doesn't show up at the top of the "News webpart" list. The news webpart gives "something went wrong" error. Same error in IE and Chrome. I thought it was caused by new news items with titles that contained maori characters e.g. Staff Announcements: Pānui Kaimahi - 22 Āperira 2020 BUT even when i rename the aspx files in PageFiles to remove the accents above the characters I still get the errors. I've also seen the same sort of error when a users creating the news item was on a very slow connection. In both cases the news item page works fine if you go to it specifically in the browser window. It is the filter or select statement in the News webpart that is having the problem. Note the middle column of the home page is using the Modern Yammer web part. Could it be some cross over error ?? Please tell me how to find the news pages which are causing the issue, and how to fix it ! Many thanks DorjeSolved26KViews0likes7CommentsTurn off 'You may also be interested in' web part
Is there an option to permanently turn off this annoying feature that automatically adds this useless web part to new pages? It's so pointless, and populating a page with a web part without wanting it is so obnoxious from MS!20KViews10likes22CommentsSharePoint Modern Doc Library Web Part - Won't display other views
I have been using the new Modern Document Library web part for a few weeks now without issue. Suddenly yesterday around noon, any instances of the webpart I had reverted to the default view of the Library and I could never get it to go back to a non-default view. If I change which view is default, they'll all show the new default. I've even tried with entirely different libraries on different sites thinking I might have messed something up with that library, but with the same results. Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone have an idea of how to fix it? Thanks!14KViews3likes27CommentsPDFs are not showing in the modern File Viewer web part
Hello Community, I was trying to use the modern File Viewer web part to display a PDF on a modern page. But for some reasons I just couldn't see any of my PDF file in the Site selector even I am 100% sure files are in this document library. I end up just copy and past the URL of this PDF to the web part, but is this how it supposed to work? Does anyone experience the same behavior here? I am using the news web part pulling news from multiple site collections and hub site collections. I would like to filter based on a column i've added to those site collection page libraries but the filter option is only appearing when the News Source is "This Site". Is the option to filter the news from multiple site collections not available and only available from within the site you're on?Solved8.3KViews1like16CommentsList Web Part Expand/Collapse View Broken on Modern Site Page
When attempting to display a list view on a SharePoint Online Modern Site Page for FAQ questions and answers the Answer field (multiple lines of text) is not displaying the values. In the examples below all question and answer fields have values and should display. In the actual list itself the same view shows both the Answer and Question values just as expected. Answer Field = Required (List Web Part) When I have the Answer field set as required (no matter if it is Plain, Rich, or Enhanced Rich text) it shows that required info is missing even though all the Answer fields have values in them. Using the List View Web Part I see the following: If I click the heading, "Question: Question #1 here? (1)" in the list view web part I then see the value for the Answer: Answer Field = Not Required (List Web Part) When I have the Answer field set as not required (no matter if it is Plain, Rich, or Enhanced Rich text) it shows no value even though all the Answer fields have values in them.
