universal print
26 TopicsUniversal Print defaults to letter instead of A4 size on client PC's. Does not correct during print
Hi, Not sure if it makes a difference but running a Sharp MX4141N and MX5070N through the connector software with the UD3 Driver. (Have tried with other drviers) By default when the Universal Print printer is installed on users computers (Via an Intune Policy) the paper size defaults to Letter instead of A4. This means that when a user prints they need to go up to the printer and tell it to change print size to A4. The document printing is in A4 Changing the paper size in Printer Preferences -> Advanced fixes this: But it is a manual process I want them to provision with the correct paper size. Any help would be appreciated.13KViews2likes6Commentsupprinterinstaller.exe pop up windows
Hi everyone! we have just started deploying printers to intune clients using universal print. It works mostly fine, but after adding around 10 printers via policy, we see multiple upprinterinstaller.exe windows popping for a few minutes up each time the client synchronizes policy. Has anyone else experienced this, or found a solution to this? RuslanSolved12KViews0likes16CommentsUniversal Print - Error Sent to Printer
Updated the Canon to the new firmware which natively supports UP. Registered the printer without issues. Shared the printer with a user. Add a Printer in Windows 10 Admin: Shows the UP printer and adds everything works User: Does not show the UP printer via Add Printer... Configured MEM and installed the printer on Win10. Everything looks good, but print fails with Error Sent to Print Both have the UP license assigned Any ideas why I'm getting Error - Sent to Printer? Additional Information. I logon the machine as an end-user and don't see Universal Printers via Add Printer but if I logon as Admin I do see the Universal Printers viea Add Printers. Looks like this might be something with UP licensing?? Saw this in another discussion thread. Is this true as we are Azure AD Joined. When a device is Azure AD Joined, not AAD Registered, then a normal user (no admin) cannot use Universal Print? Thanks in advance5.7KViews0likes4CommentsUniversal Print volume add-on: Windows or Microsoft 365?
What is the difference between the following offers: Universal Print volume add-on (500 jobs) - Windows ( d3ddc493-5741-4e0d-a02d-07edbb0bb72e ) Universal Print volume add-on (500 jobs) - Microsoft 365 ( cb131356-45ee-4ae2-8537-873b706c8e75 )Solved4.1KViews1like3CommentsNot able to Register Universal Print ready printers
Hello, we have purchased three Canon C1333iF printers to use Microsoft Universal Print. These printers are Universal Print ready printers. We get an error message when we click register on the printer's online portal. Information such as the App ID, registration URL, and authentication URL are pre-populated by Canon. Canon support says that the error is with Microsoft. Attached I am sending a screenshot of the printer's Universal Print setting configuration. We can rule out the following: We can rule out a license and permissions issue, as we can't even get to the user account prompt. We can also rule out a network problem, as we have already tested this via a mobile hotspot. I would be very grateful for any hints and tips. regards Lucas3.6KViews0likes11CommentsUniversal Print Connector Version. Print Jobs stuck in pending
Issues with Universal Print from 3rd July - Microsoft Tech Community Saurabh_Bansal What updates are in the latest build of the connector that you linked? (1.26.7633.377) Is there a reason why it isn't released yet like bugs and such? We are running the "current" latest build 1.14.7564.21701 and we are still having issues with print jobs getting stuck in pending. I already submitted a ticket through Azure and the agent said it was a known issue that will be fixed in the future. Was wondering if this new connector would resolve it but you replied about 5 months ago so I'm wondering if there's a better version that is "not released". Thank you!2.9KViews1like3CommentsUniversal Print Available for Windows 10 Business?
Hello, I noticed Universal Print is only available for Enterprise and Education tenants while in private preview. Will this also be made available on tenants running Microsoft 365 Business? The majority of our SMB clients are migrating to Microsoft 365 Business and could really benefit from this feature. I would be happy to drop 3rd party if this works. Hello everybody, we have just managed to get access to the Universal Print Preview and we wish to thank you a million for the opportunity given. We are running a server less initiative in selected branch office with the objective of eliminating at all infrastructure components while still maintaining a degree of governance. One of the component that is part of our branch offices setup is the print server however as of now, due to the COVID emergency, the selected pilot office has been evacuated so we started using Universal Print with what we have at home: home printers ... In my case I was able to setup everything properly, when I am sending the print-out to my home printer (an old Epson XP305 ink-jet) everything works smoothly therefore I thought about extending the experiment to a Colleague sitting in Delhi and here is where we are facing issues. We are able to add to our tenant his printer (an HP DeskJet 3540) however when printing from my workstation the output goes nowhere w/o errors shown. On the other hand the Colleague in Delhi running a Windows 10 v1909 cannot find the printer to perform a test. On my Windows 10 v1903 I was able retrieving the printer pretty much immediately. Any suggestion? Comments? Thanks for the attention given Regards GiuseppeSolved2.2KViews1like6CommentsUniversal Print with multiple work accounts often not working
Hello everyone, we are currently in a carve out situation and are building up our own infrastructure, mainly relying on M365. In the further text I will refer to us as "Company M" and the company we are getting carved out from is "Company F". We are rolling out Entra ID joined clients to our users and also adopted to universal print utilizing several Kyocery printers natively supporting Universal Print. We registered the devices successfully and roll out this printers via an Intune policy using Printer Provisioning specifying the Share ID, CloudDevice ID and Printer Shared Name. This works so far... However as mentioned we as Company M are in the process of a Carve Out from Company F. We need to add our still existing account from Company F as "Work or School" account to our clients (which are entra ID joined with Company M, and the users are of course signing on with the account of Company M). Unfortunately, this causes universal print errors. The user tries to print, but the print job gets stuck on the client and does not arrive at UP. We see Errors in the Event Log like: SetChannelAuth failed when sending SendIppPrinterRequest request. hr: 0x8001012d APMon.dll The users also receive Authentication Popups for the Account with "Company F" unable to select an option to switch to a different account when trying to troubleshoot the printing (not sure what exactly they click). Also when this issue happens the users are also not able to add the Printer via the settings app. Normally I would click Add Printer, and select "Work or School"... also in this case we get an Authentication Popup for the "Company F" User, unable to select anything to switch the "Company M" User, where Universal Print is hosted. If we fully remove the Company F user, universal print works normally, but this is not an option at the moment, as we need to access one specific app from company F for a while, and this needs the device to be registered (and approved afterwards) in their tenant. If we would remove and readd the account, we would still need to have the device approved again by Company F as it gets a new Device Object in THEIR Entra ID. I know a bit complicated, but I have no influence on what Company F does. However this seems to be some sort of bug in Universal Print that sometimes it uses the correct account and printing works, and sometimes it switches to the other account and does not work, throwing errors like the one above.2KViews0likes2Comments
