1672 TopicsTeams Room (Crestron UC) cannot join an ongoing discussion, unless there's a gap of silence.
This should be a fun discovery, we just found the captioned issue happened to one of our clients' sites, all of their Teams Room have the same problem. When the room's Teams Room app is going to join an ongoing Teams meeting, and at the same time there's participants having a discussion in the meeting, the newly joined Teams Room app would not be able to contribute in the discussion after it successfully joins the meeting. The Teams Room app would not show the microphone as muted, neither it will highlight the Teams Room camera view to indicate "speaking" status. You can talk and talk in the Teams Room room but you won't be able to interupte the ongoing discussion until, there's a gap of silence appears, for just a few seconds, around 5s, if you grap this chance to speak up, you would be able to speak for the first time since your joining. And from that moment, everything will be normal, you won't lose your voice for the second time. Please note, I'm not talking about if you joined the meeting as the 5th partcipant, or with even greater number of total participants. We are talking about a total of 3 participants only. If you joined as the 3rd participant, you'll encounter the problem. There're two key requirements to repeat the symptom: You join with the Team Room app, not Personal Teams; The people already in the meeting, need to speak/make sound when you first join the meeting and try to speak for the first time. I also ruled out result of AEC by only using headsets in the meeting. I have video record of the issue for easier understanding, and I have conducted similar tests with different sets of Crestron UC, in different rooms, even tested on a newly restored set of Teams Room. I'm planning to do similar test with other brands of Teams Room equipment, just to compare. Please feel free to share your experience in similar issue. I'm dying to find out the reason behind it.18Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Teams Direct routing and external contacts
When external contacts are added or synced they are shown as telephone numbers instead of the name associated with it. Amongst others this is the case under quick dial. If you go to recent calls it's shown as the name. Tested on an xcover totally locked down, teams in a work profile on another android device. This is not the case on an iPhone SE 3 with company portal with teams. There under quick dials and contacts it's shown as the name of the external contacts. As you might imagine this is going to pose quite the hassle to our users that have to call with non organisation external contacts. Please advice :-)24Views0likes0CommentsAdd Group Chat As A Channel
Hi all, I am wondering if there is a way to make a channel in a team that behaves the same as a group chat. I understand the advantages and disadvantages of conversations vs chats. Basically I like having conversation for work related things, the threads are good for organizations etc. At the same time I would prefer having a channel for general chit chat that behaves like a group chat (with the reply behavior of a chat and the general flow of a chat.) Yes I could just make a group chat that has the same members as my team but it is less comfortable to continuously go between the Teams tab and the Chats tab, and also inviting members to both the Group and the Chat can be annoying when there are many of them. Is there a way to do this that I missed?125KViews24likes38CommentsHow to add Copilot Agents in Teams
Copilot Agents provide quick, tailored information for your project, team, and tasks. When you're on a SharePoint site, you can select an agent, generate a share link, and share it in Teams or other Microsoft 365 apps. Note that the agent's responses are based on the permissions of the person asking the question. When you share an agent with others, they can only access the sources they have permissions for. Therefore, you may need to update sharing permissions on the agent’s resources to ensure others can fully utilize the agent.
Peut-on m'aider ?11Views0likes0CommentsHow to use the new Chats & Channels experience in Teams

Hi there, I have been having login issues with New Teams and it is causing a great deal of stress. After having New Teams, I am unable to login with my work account. When I start up New Teams, login screen would come up with three different accounts (two personal and one work, as I was unable to login with work account). When I select work account, a pop up window would show as if its logging in, but after few seconds, it would take me back to the login screen with three different accounts. However, I am able to login to Teams with me personal accounts. Tried selecting new login and enter my work account has shown same result. After tested different logins, I believe its Teams cache that is causing the problem. - I've also tested on different computer accounts on the same mac that is having the issue with newly downloaded teams. It login in with no problem. (No problem with the OS or teams version) - I've login in on Teams on my iPhone with no problem. (No problem with the account) - Login in on Teams on browser with no problem. (No problem with the account) However, I've tested below ways (Done what was on other threads) to delete its cache and login credentials but the login still has three different accounts shown and it does not solve the issue. 1. Fully close Microsoft Teams. 2. Move or delete (if you're really confident): /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Microsoft 3. In Finder, locate Teams New, right click and move to Trash 4. Using Spotlight Search (accessed by clicking the magnifying glass on the macOS menu bar), enter “Keychain” and select Keychain Access. Search for Microsoft Teams keys in keychain. Within Keychain, search for keywords that contain “Microsoft", "Teams” to find the Teams Identities Cache entry. Right click this item and select the delete option, then close the Keychain Access app. 5. Most instructions stop here and say Relaunch Microsoft Teams. I found an additional series of locations to clean up 5a. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Containers, there will be a handful of Microsoft Teams related directories like: com.microsoft.teams2 I had to give Terminal full access to disk to remove these directories 5b. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Group Containers/ search for anything related to Microsoft Teams and remove them as well 6. One final check of the Activity Monitor, you may find it reporting some process running with the process name: com.microsoft.teams2.* Quit those processes Would appreciate any sort of help or advises.3.9KViews1like5CommentsHow to Use Copilot with Microsoft Teams
In today’s fast paced work environment, good collaboration is the backbone of any successful team. Microsoft Teams has emerged as one of the leading platforms for communication and collaboration, and with the addition of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams is now supercharged with AI powered assistance. If you’re looking to streamline teamwork, organize projects, and enhance productivity, Copilot in Microsoft Teams offers robust features that make managing tasks, meetings, and communication more intuitive and effective. In this post, we’ll explore what Copilot brings to Microsoft Teams, how to use its features to streamline your workflows, and ways to leverage it to take collaboration to the next level. What is Microsoft 365 Copilot? Before diving into its capabilities in Microsoft Teams, it’s important to understand what Microsoft 365 Copilot is. Built on OpenAI’s advanced language model, Copilot is designed to be a proactive assistant that integrates seamlessly within Microsoft 365 apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and, of course, Teams. It works by offering real time suggestions, automating repetitive tasks, and providing insights based on the data at hand. In Microsoft Teams, Copilot is particularly geared toward improving team collaboration and project management. Whether you’re coordinating a project, leading a meeting, or managing team files, Copilot’s capabilities can help make the experience smoother and more efficient. Key Features of Copilot in Microsoft Teams Copilot’s functionality in Microsoft Teams covers a wide range of collaboration activities, from generating meeting summaries to assisting with action item tracking. Here are the standout features Copilot brings to Teams: Intelligent Meeting Summaries and Notes Copilot can automatically generate meeting summaries, capturing key points, action items, and decisions made. This is especially useful for team members who couldn’t attend a meeting or need a quick recap. You can even prompt Copilot to highlight specific topics discussed during the meeting, making it easy to focus on the areas that matter most. Real-Time Task Assignments and Follow-Ups During meetings, Copilot can help track and assign tasks in real time, ensuring that action items are never lost in the shuffle. It identifies follow-up tasks discussed in the meeting and creates assignments for each team member. Once tasks are assigned, Copilot tracks them and provides updates, so you always have a clear view of the project’s progress. Instant Summaries of Chat Conversations In Teams, conversations often contain valuable insights, project updates, and decisions that are important for everyone involved. However, sifting through lengthy chats can be time consuming. Copilot’s chat summarization feature lets you generate quick overviews of long conversations, making it easier to stay informed without having to scroll through entire chat histories. Enhanced File Search and Suggestions Teams files and resources are scattered across different channels and groups, making it challenging to locate the right document quickly. Copilot’s intelligent search capabilities make it easy to find specific files based on content, keywords, or even project details. Additionally, it suggests files and resources that are contextually relevant to the current conversation or meeting, saving time and reducing interruptions. Proactive Insights and Data Analysis Copilot doesn’t just passively wait for instructions; it actively looks for ways to assist you by analyzing patterns within Teams. For example, it can identify recurring topics, flag potential project bottlenecks, and offer suggestions on optimizing workflows. This feature can help team leaders and project managers identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, spot areas of concern, and make data-driven decisions. Step-by-Step Guide to Using Copilot in Microsoft Teams Now that we’ve covered the capabilities of Copilot in Teams, here’s a step by step guide on how to use it effectively: Setting Up and Accessing Copilot in Teams If you’re using Microsoft 365 with a Copilot subscription, Copilot should automatically be accessible within Teams. You can find it in the Teams app menu, where it’s integrated into chat, meetings, and files. Ensure you have the latest version of Microsoft Teams installed, and Copilot should be readily available for use. Note that some features may be gradually rolled out, so check for updates if you don’t see Copilot immediately. Using Copilot for Meeting Summaries When a meeting begins, Copilot will automatically listen for key points, action items, and decisions being made. You can also use commands to ask Copilot for specific information, such as “Summarize today’s project discussion.” After the meeting, Copilot can send a complete summary with bullet points, assigned tasks, and key takeaways, which can be shared with attendees or saved for reference. Task Assignment and Follow Up Tracking During discussions, mention action items and responsible individuals clearly. Copilot will recognize these mentions and create tasks accordingly. Once assigned, Copilot provides regular updates on the progress of these tasks. To see a task list or update the status of an assignment, simply ask Copilot within the relevant channel or conversation. Generating Summaries for Ongoing Conversations In busy chat channels, ask Copilot for a “summary of the recent conversation” to get an overview of the discussion highlights. Copilot’s summarization feature is a great way to catch up if you’ve been away or need a quick refresher before responding to a message. Finding Relevant Files Quickly Use Copilot’s search by typing specific file-related queries like “find last week’s project report” or “locate the marketing presentation.” Copilot can also provide suggestions for files based on the conversation context, helping you quickly share relevant resources without interrupting the flow of a discussion. Analyzing Patterns and Insights In Teams, go to the Insights tab where Copilot provides analytical insights, identifying recurring issues or areas of focus based on chat and meeting data. For project managers, asking Copilot for a “progress update” or “bottleneck analysis” can reveal useful metrics, such as delayed tasks or frequently mentioned project risks. Tips for Maximizing Productivity with Copilot in Teams Use Natural Language Commands: Copilot is designed to understand conversational commands, so feel free to use natural language. Try asking it questions like, “What were the key points from yesterday’s meeting?” or “Who is responsible for the upcoming deadline?” Encourage Team Members to Adopt Copilot: To fully leverage Copilot’s collaborative features, encourage everyone on your team to use it actively. This allows Copilot to create a holistic view of team interactions, making its suggestions and insights more effective. Regularly Review Copilot’s Suggestions: While Copilot can automate and assist, it’s always beneficial to review its summaries and suggestions for accuracy. This ensures that important details are not overlooked, and action items remain relevant. Sum up The Future of Collaboration with Copilot in Teams With Copilot, Microsoft Teams goes beyond being a communication platform; it becomes a proactive partner in your team’s daily operations. By automating routine tasks, tracking conversations, and providing insights, Copilot helps you focus on what truly matters achieving your team’s goals.
