25 TopicsTime Zone configuration profiles and policies
Hello, I'm trying to find out the way to control "automatic time zone change" option to allow users to turn it off or on. On the Intune side there is a configuration profile using OMA-URI settings ("./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/UserRights/ChangeTimeZone" with string "LOCAL SERVICEAdministratorsUsers"). This one controls whether user can change the Time Zone manually in the Control Panel (the old school way) and it also reflects in the Settings when the "Set time zone automatically" is turned off however we have some users that have this option greyed out and I have not found a way how to change this from the Intune side. Users are normally standard users and they do not have administrative rights by default but they should be able to change some of the settings when they invoke "elevation mode" eg in the 1st picture below if I would switch "Set time zone automatically" on I would be presented with authentication dialog and after authentication the setting would turn on. 1st case - user can change the "set time zone automatically" option on/off but is not in the group that is allowed to manually change the time zone hence it does not even show the time zone choices (this reflects the configuration profile mentioned above) 2nd case - user can change the "set time zone automatically" option on/off and is in the group that is allowed to manually change the time zone => shows additional options Time Zone and DST. 3rd case - user can not change the "set time zone automatically" option at all means can't change the TZ or DST in Settings, but is able to change time zone via Control Panel (see below) And the question for the million $$$ 🙂 is if or where is the option / configuration that makes the "Set time zone automatically" greyed out. Any ideas? Thanks402Views1like6CommentsChange the timezone for date/time - Arizona
Hello, I am in Arizona with no daylight saving. The SQL database I am pulling date/time codes has nightmarish Epoch (INT) fields for the date/time fields and it's in Eastern Time Zone. I figured out how to convert the code to date / time. However, HOW do I change the Eastern Time ZONE to either Pacific (Spring/Summer) or Mountain (Fall/Winter)?? Unfortunately, there is no Arizona Time Zone for MS SQL. Convert(varchar,DATEADD(MILLISECOND, CAST(RIGHT(Completed_Date, 3) AS INT) - DATEDIFF(MILLISECOND,GETDATE(),GETUTCDATE()), DATEADD(SECOND, CAST(LEFT(Completed_Date, 10) AS INT), '1970-01-01')),22)as 'PBI Completed Date' Thank you!Solved434Views0likes16CommentsPlease, please, please make a louder timezone for bookings!
My students come from all over the world. When the register for the university they often set their account timezone as their home timezone. Then they are very confused later when living at the University when their bookings are all off. There is a pretty little timezone icon, but I want a warning or something if their timezone and my timezone are a mismatch. Something, anything to help them to successfully sign up and not be surprised when I tell them they do not have an appointment for the time they "clicked". The timezone needs to be very loud on the page. Currently it is behind that beautiful globe button that no student is going to see.49Views0likes0CommentsError when showing schedule time in my personal booking page
In my personal booking page (Sorry if the names are not correct as I have it in Spanish) when creating a meeting ans putting the opion "Using my regular meeting Shedule" (Usar mi horario de reuniones habitual) it works properly from Mon to Thu but not Friday (as this day is only ntil 15). It still shows later. I've checked everywhere and my schedule and timezone is updated. What can I do?25Views0likes0CommentsMS Teams / Nur-Sultan (Astana, Kazakhstan) timezone and city name isn't up to date
Hello, I have some problems in both Teams for Business and Personal Teams First of all, the city is called Astana, not Nur-Sultan (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/sep/14/kazakhstan-to-change-name-of-capital-from-nur-sultan-back-to-astana).<br Secondly, on December 7, 2023, the Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration proposed that Kazakhstan switch to a single time zone in 2024. Specifically, Kazakhstan would uniformly apply the fifth time zone (UTC+5) across its entire territory. On March 1, 2024, the cities of Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent, as well as the following regions, will turn back the local time by one hour: Abai, Akmola, Almaty, Zhambyl, Zhetisu, Karagandy, Kostanai, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Turkistan, Ulytau, and East Kazakhstan (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/daylight-saving-time-time-zone/interim-guidance-for-kazakhstan-time-zone-changes-2024/ba-p/4048963). Currently, the time zone for Astana is UTC+5, but in MS Teams, it still shows UTC+6. Please address this issue. Looking forward to your response Best regards, Nikita.232Views0likes0CommentsDifferent appointments when switching between same offset timezones
Microsoft Bookings shows no appointments available for a service on "UTC-1 (Azores)", but then, on the same page, it does show some appointments available if I change the timezone to "UTC-1 (Cabo Verde Is)". But they are both UTC-1. Just switching between the same UTC-1 timezones is changing what is shown as available on that day. Why is that happening? it's the same time offset.112Views0likes0CommentsBookings and Staff working time an hour apart
It looks like I have a problem where the Booking Slots are in UTC, but staff member's availability is BST. This means I cannot book an all day appointment because a staff member's availability begins at 1am, rather than 12am. Is there a way round this? Should I set the staff member's timezone to UTC? Thanks. Edit: I think I should say this problem only appears to have recently surfaced, perhaps in the past few days, as we switched to BST in the UK back in March. I wonder if Microsoft have made changes to cause this. Looking into it further, the time zone appears to be changed (+01:00 hour) at the creation of the appointment rather than based on the time zone of the staff member. The time zone of the booking service is (UTC+00:00) Dublin, Edinburgh etc. so I'm at a loss to understand why it's adding an hour.374Views0likes0CommentsBookings timezone problem
Hi, We seem to have some problems with bookings. Some booking pages show the time in AM/PM format (which is not wanted) but others are in the right format. Reminders and confirmations follow the same pattern. It's also not possible to book something on days where it should be possible. I looked at all the settings from one with the wrong timezone and one with the right timezone, i see no difference in any setting. Edit: I discovered both booking sites have a different URL: Right timezone: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/email address removed for privacy reasons/bookings/ Wrong timezone: https://outlook.office365.com/book/email address removed for privacy reasons/ Any ideas? Thx in advance!598Views0likes0CommentsTeams uses EWS-API wrong which leads to wrong timezone in meetings
Hi, we do have an Exchange Hybrid Setup. On-Prem we do use OWA only. No Outlook-Client. When a user creates a Teams meeting (inside the Teams calendar) they sometimes use OWA when changing the meeting for comfort reasons (drag&drop). Here the problems begin. A little example: - User sets up meeting at 11:00 a.m. within the Teams calendar. - User changes meeting to 9:00 a.m. via OWA on the Exchange on-prem - Within in the organisation, everything is OK. But every External now has the appointment at 1:00 p.m. So somehow Exchange does a +2h (summertime maybe involved) to the orginal starting time of the meeting. But just for external participants. Inside the organisation everything is fine. Exchange always does the +2h based from the original meeting starttime. So moving the appointment to 3:00 p.m. will also lead to 1 p.m. for the External. Technically the .ics gets changed from "W. Europe Standard Time" to "UTC". If we change the meeting in the Teams calendar, everything is fine. If you create the meeting On-Prem and change it On-Prem or in the Teams calendar, everything is fine. It is just Online created meetings, changed On-Prem what causes the issue. I attached a screenshot of the .ics file. Right side shows the original meeting from Teams. Left side shows the changes of the meeting after leaving Exchange On-Prem. Does anybody have an idea where to look? Cheers Sebastian2KViews0likes3CommentsWindows 10 v1909 (19042.1586) Missing Set time zone automatically
A user who recently traveled requested that we setup Windows so that the time zone would update automatically the next time she traveled. In checking our machines (Win 10 v1909 19042.1586) we're noticing that the "Set time zone automatically" option in Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time is missing. Was this feature removed in some version of Windows? If yes, which version and where is it documented? If no, Any thoughts as to why it might be missing? I checked this article "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/shell-experience/cannot-set-timezone-automatically" but my "Start" value is already set to "3" and "Value" is already set to "Allow".1.5KViews0likes0Comments
