Hello Microsoft Community, I am seeking urgent assistance and guidance regarding a critical Microsoft 365 tenant lockout that has been ongoing for several days without a resolution or proper communication from the support team. Our organization manages Microsoft 365 services for a business with more than 200 active users who depend on Microsoft 365 for their daily operations. Issue Description We have been locked out of our Microsoft 365 tenant's administrator account. This prevents us from properly managing our Microsoft 365 environment and restoring normal access to essential business services. Our business-critical data, including important documents and operational information, is stored in SharePoint. The inability to access and manage these services has significantly disrupted our business operations. Microsoft Support Ticket References We have raised multiple support tickets and followed up repeatedly, but the issue remains unresolved. Tracking ID: 2610050040001149 Tracking ID: 2610090010001066 Tracking ID: 2610050040001222 Despite these support cases and repeated follow-ups, we have not received a satisfactory resolution or a clear recovery timeline. Support Experience So Far Following a discussion with the support team, we were expecting a call to assist with unlocking the administrator account and providing a temporary password through the appropriate recovery process. However, we have not received the expected call or a meaningful update. Our main concerns are: Complete loss of access to the Microsoft 365 tenant administrator account. More than 200 users affected by the ongoing incident. Critical business data and documents stored in SharePoint. Multiple support tickets without a concrete resolution. Lack of clear communication regarding the root cause and recovery timeline. No clear escalation path or confirmation of the next recovery steps. Our Concerns We understand that technical issues can occur, but leaving a business-critical environment inaccessible for an extended period without meaningful updates is extremely concerning. We purchase Microsoft 365 licenses through a partner and expect appropriate technical support and escalation assistance when critical incidents occur. Our organization previously used Google Workspace and recommended migrating to Microsoft 365 because of its enterprise capabilities. This incident has seriously affected user confidence and business continuity. If access cannot be restored promptly, we may have to consider alternative email hosting arrangements to minimize further disruption. Request for Assistance I would appreciate guidance from Microsoft engineers, Microsoft 365 administrators, and community members who have experienced similar situations. What is the appropriate escalation process when all available tenant administrator accounts are inaccessible? How can we expedite tenant ownership verification and administrator account recovery? Is there a dedicated Microsoft team that handles critical tenant lockout incidents affecting business operations? What is the recommended recovery process when the administrator cannot access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center? How can we obtain urgent assistance when multiple support tickets and repeated follow-ups have not resulted in a clear resolution? Can the three referenced support tickets be escalated for urgent review by the appropriate Microsoft support team? We are not looking for workarounds that compromise tenant security. We need Microsoft's official recovery process to restore authorized administrative access safely. Microsoft Support Team: If any Microsoft support representatives are monitoring this community, we would appreciate your guidance on the appropriate escalation channel for this incident. We can provide additional information privately through the appropriate official channels. Thank you for your time and assistance. Any guidance that helps us restore our services and protect business continuity would be greatly appreciated. Hi All Have a big issue. Have a not for profit account for our charity. Renewed licence earlier in the year and all was ok and working. Then a few days ago I had reports of not being able to access data. After much hunting I found the below. Seems account was suddenly and without warning disabled and then reported as deleted a few days later. What do I do? I desperately need to recover the files that were on the associated teams? Any help would be much appreciated1.5KViews0likes15CommentsWhere does Teams get its user list from? I can't make sense of which accounts I see vs which I can't
OK, so I have a currently rather unusual situation. I am looking at a 365 Tenant. A number of users have four accounts on the same tenant (let's not even get into why, cleaning things up is part of the reason I got called in). When you start typing their name into teams it comes up with three of them as a suggestion (I only want one) Account 1: has just been used for ActiveDirectory for permissions to the company's Distributed File System (stored in on on premises servers in various locations). This account has to the best of my knowledge never had a license or mailbox associated with it, and so has never been on the global address list, it's also never had the teams app enabled for it. I don't want this one to show, but it does Account 2: A now defunct account which used to have a Business Standard license assigned to it, but has now had the licensed removed. Before the license was removed this account was hidden from the GAL and its teams app disabled. I don't want this one to show, but it does Account 3: An now defunct account which still has a Business Standard license, but with Teams deselected in the Apps. I don't want this one to show... and it doesn't Account 4: An account shared via a multi tenant organization (the users in question have been migrated to a new tenant). So these are members (not guests) but external ones. I want this to show, and it does. Now, accounts 2 and 3 will be deleted soon, whether we can get rid of account 1 depends on whether the necessary access to the DFS can be done using account 4 (which I need to look into next). However for the time being they are all there so I was trying to hide accounts I don't want users trying to message on teams from teams, and I cannot make any sense of which I see which I don't. To sum up. Account that has never been on the Global Address List and never been activated for Teams - Shows Account that used to have a license and was on the GAL, and used in teams - Shows Account that still has a license, but has been removed from GAL and had teams app disabled - Doesn't show Account that has no license and is not on the GAL, but has teams on it's host tenant - Shows After a previous inquiry I set "Scope directory search using an Exchange address book policy" in the teams setup, but I have not set up any specific address book policy as yet. I have tried showing and hiding people from the global address list, and also the "ShowInAddressList" setting in Entra (which seems to only be available through graph?). Nothing seems to make a difference (it doesn't help that Teams takes forever to update its local cache for this stuff, so maybe a change DID make a difference at some point and I missed it). I cannot find any logic as to which of these accounts is showing in the auto suggests and which not, most notably that account 1 shows but account 3 doesn't. So, where is Teams getting its list of contacts from?3.2KViews0likes4CommentsNew Teams Crash After Sharing Screen

I’m requesting the ability to become the full administrator of Outlook newsletters not just in my organization, but across Microsoft 365. I want to manage templates, delivery settings, analytics, and permissions. My goal is to have broader control over how newsletters are created, customized, and distributed. I’m passionate about communication and want to help shape how newsletters work in Outlook. Please consider adding a role or feature that allows users like me to take ownership and lead newsletter strategy across organizations. I’ve seen cases where people used newsletters to share inappropriate content, including profanity and offensive language. Without proper moderation tools, this can damage professional communication and create serious issues. I want to help prevent misuse by having the ability to moderate, approve, or restrict newsletter content before it’s sent. I also want to contribute to improving the overall design and performance of the newsletter experience, making it more intuitive, professional, and reliable. Giving users like me full control over Outlook newsletters would improve communication quality, prevent abuse, and empower responsible leadership across organizations. If exclusive admin control isn’t granted, at minimum there should be a designated Admin role because without clear ownership, misuse and poor communication will continue unchecked. I’m ready to take on that responsibility and help shape the future of Outlook newsletters.336Views0likes1CommentTeams Admin Center Withdraws Dark Mode Support
Microsoft announced on August 17 that they are not proceeding with the implementation of dark mode support in the Teams Admin center. The news came as a surprise, but it’s an indication of the lack of user interface consistency across the different Microsoft 365 administrative consoles. Token handling is another example. I can live without dark mode, but being forced to sign out by the Teams admin center is a pain. https://office365itpros.com/2023/08/28/teams-admin-center-dark-mode/3.8KViews0likes1CommentBooking not available for everyone
Dear Community, We are currently experiencing an issue within our tenant related to the Microsoft Bookings App. While the app is enabled and accessible via browser for users in a specific group, some users are unable to add the app directly to their Teams interface without submitting a request. At this point, we have not been able to identify the root cause of the issue. I might be a policy issues that only we can solve. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or could suggest possible solution? Thank you :)439Views0likes2CommentsWhere's my display name?!
Hey everyone, I just set up my entire team with an Outlook account. Each person has their own display name (First, Last) and other personal information attached via the 'Identity' tab in the admin center. My issue is that when a team member sends an email it arrives the in the recipients inbox as 'email address removed for privacy reasons' instead of the display name of 'Joe Montana.' How and what do I change to ensure the recipient of the email sees the name of the sender rather than their whole email address. It's affecting our deliverability because it looks spammy. Any help would be appreciated!766Views0likes1CommentArchiving Teams channels?
Hi, I found this from MS https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/office/archivieren-oder-wiederherstellen-eines-kanals-53c46491-a265-4391-a2a7-001c5026c9e5 But settings are not available as described in that article. Any ideas how I would be able to archive channels within MS Teams?Solved503Views0likes2CommentsGuidance Needed on Microsoft 365 Subscription for Teams App Development
I am currently developing an app for Teams and have set up accounts in the Azure portal, joined the developer program, and accessed the Teams developer portal. However, when attempting to log in to the Teams admin center, an error occurs: Internal calls to PLS Service have failed. We can't find the tenant region for tenantId. Please try again later to join the developer program, the message indicated: `Thank you for joining. You don't currently qualify for a Microsoft 365 Developer Program sandbox subscription.`. Research revealed that Microsoft discontinued the free subscription. A subscription is needed to access the Microsoft Teams admin center and for Teams app development. I can see various Microsoft 365 plans for businesses like Basic and Standard, as well as licenses available in the Microsoft 365 admin center. I am considering the Microsoft Teams Essentials license. However, there is confusion regarding whether to buy a subscription or a specific license, especially since active users in the 365 admin center are showing as unlicensed. Could anyone advise on which plan or license is necessary for Teams app development?605Views0likes2Comments
