Is there a way to exclude certain SharePoint sites from a Never Delete compliance policy, so that they are allowed to be manually deleted? And if so, how long after I add them to an exclusion list should they become available to be manually deleted?70Views0likes1CommentAuto retention label policy does not work in SharePoint Online
I have created an auto retention label policy and ran and tested it in simulation mode two weeks back, but when I run the same policy with the same query in simulation mode, it does not give any matching result; always it comes with 0 matches found. However, when we test the same query in SharePoint Online search, it gives a result. The policy is completing on time; sometimes it takes hours to days to complete, but sometimes it completes on time as expected. What could be the reason? Are you also facing similar issues? Thanks!41Views0likes0CommentsDLP and OneDrive Shorcuts
I created a simple DLP in Purview as a test just to find a particular word and to block access to the document. Just as a test in sim mode for now. I can access the document from SharePoint and get a pop up notification which I set that tells me its contain this word. I can also access it from OneDrive online and get the popup. But if I use the OneDrive shorcut to SharePoint which opens the document In Word desktop I do not get any popup. The DLP policy is set for SharePoint and OneDrive. Will this not work for shorcuts. Hi there, Maybe a basic question but I've been struggling to find a definitive answer... I have a customer using the Purview Information Protection client to apply sensitivity labels locally in Windows before uploading files into SharePoint. The Office files are retaining the sensitivity labels but images (JPGs PNGs, etc.) and PDFs are not. Is this a hard limitation or is there a way to retain (or activate) the sensitivity labels on images in SharePoint/OneDrive? Thanks, AlanSolved603Views0likes1CommentRemove OneDrive/SharePoint save options in Office desktop apps
Hey, I have a customer who is needing to prevent the upload/sharing of Highly Confidential labelled documents to any Microsoft cloud services. They have successfully set up Endpoint DLP and MCAS to do just this for desktop applications like Edge, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive client, but have not found a way to prevent files from being saved to OneDrive/SharePoint via the File menu in apps like Word or Excel. Endpoint DLP has the option to block file upload to certain domains e.g. sharepoint.com, but this feature appears to only work in the browser and not within Office applications. I am aware there is GPO to block OneDrive/SharePoint as a location in Office apps but this would then remove the functionality for all files, not just those labelled Highly Confidential. Is there something else that I could configure that could prevent local files from being saved to OD/SP based on label applied? to confirm, adding a custodian in Purview premium ediscovery - this does not add any "Team" SPO sites (SPO sites not connected to Teams). If a customer wanted to know every SPO site a custodian has access to - would this be possible to write a script? Or, is the best approach for a discovery admin to just do a broad search of ALL SPO sites and see what gets returned from this broad search?775Views0likes0Comments
