Hi there, we are using SharePoint Online in our Office 365 portal. I would like to prevent users from being able to delete list or document library items when they get shared with them when editing is enabled. They should be able to modify, post comments but not to remove them. I have tried to change the Permission Level - Modification but I have the feeling this is not what applies to sharing / sending a link. It has no impact. I have removed the following rights from Permission Level - Modification : - Manage Lists - Create and delete lists, add or remove columns in a list, and add or remove public views of a list. - Delete Items - Delete items from a list and documents from a document library. - Delete Versions - Delete past versions of a list item or document. Help would be welcome ! Thanks RufusSolved1.8KViews0likes1CommentPreview of .xlsx file in the some sharepoint folders
Hi Experts. I have sharepoint folder structure with 10 sub folders Menu Folder - > 10 folders -> Each folder has files ( .XLSX is of my interest with certain name) I did web recording power app to click on each of the 10 folders and adjacent to file click ellipsis (4 dots, vertical?) or Kebab menu with 4 dots ? What menu is that ? So I click on the right side on that 4 dots, a menu opens up - > I click down and that is saved I repeated this for 10 iterations With new powerapp version, while recording, I am not able to click the menu and get to download and some folders have file preview thumbnail view .. so the powerapp automation is failing Please can you help me with the following questions 1. How do we turn off this thumbnail preview of some folders where file preview is displayed on the top 2. Is there a to filter the folder for a particular file type and click download so that I use that pattern in automation of powerapp ? Hello, i have not found anything and tried many things and I'm 100% sure that I'm not alone with this problem If you share a file to an external person then this person gets a nice sharing email. Is their somewhere an option to define the language of that sharing email. Somewhere on the web I have found, that it has something to do with the Microsoft Account language setting? Mine is in englisch but my sharing emails are still in German. Many Greetings for any help Erik12KViews1like3CommentsHow to distinguish between SharePoint 2016 and 2019 programmatically
I have a common solution for SharePoint 2016 and 2019 Servers. The solution has both client side (JavaScript) and server side (SSOM and CSOM) components. For some modern UI related work, I need to find out if solution is running on 2019 or 2016. Since both have same major version (16), what is the best way to do it? In script, is it Ok to check if modernThemingEnabled property is available in _spPageContextInfo? For server side code, is there any feature that I can check in sites or what is the best way?1.1KViews0likes1CommentWorking with excel in Sharepoint desktop app

I have a url for example https://xyz.sharepoint.com/sites/mysite I want to give this URL to my customers but since this is a complex URL I want to distribute something like https://www.mysite.com which would basically load my Sharepoint site. I have considered following options so far 1. To use Domain Forwarding/Domain masking 2. Create a landing page and add some javascript to redirect it to my SharePoint site. 3. Create a virtual directory and use a HTTP Redirect(301) to do Is there a way to rename the existing sharepoint URL? Is there any other way to do this in Office suite or sharepoint or any other means?17KViews0likes5CommentsCan you limit share functionality?
As an organization we limit who has access to what on specific sites and control the permissions using O365 groups. It seems that the share allows employees to get around this functionality. While we have restricted things from being externally access and yes of course they can download and send these files anyways it does create a bit of a loophole in our security plan. Is it possible to limit the share functionality or at a minimum restrict access to be for those with existing access?Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsCutomizing SharePoint Online Modern Page
1) is that feasible to customize the modern pages page layout? as we do in classic attach a content type and we have to fill the required metadata before publishing that page. 2) Can we add an app from SharePoint app store in modern pages?Solved4.2KViews0likes4CommentsWhy is sharepoint online broken and when are they going to fix it?
It's hard to understand how the centerpiece of office365 could actually experience this type of malfunction for this long - what on earth could possibly have happened that they couldn't have seen coming. all we get is 1984 double speak on the "advisory" - and the best is you cant comment on them - probably because the back end is sharepoint which is broken at the moment - oh the irony924Views0likes0Comments
