Hello, We seem to be having an issue with the Office 365 Office Message Encryption (OME) for a couple of customers. They are properly licensed with Business Premium and AIP Plan 1 and have the latest version of the Office desktop (1812.11126.20196). The button has just disappeared. Recently, it's been upgraded from the previous envelope with red circle to the new lock icon. Yesterday, it is now either grayed out or the tab has completely been removed from the "New" message window in the "Options" section. It was working fine the day before. Not sure if this is related to the recent update of the Office client, but other customers with the same set up are not experiencing this issue. The current affected customers still have the ability to use OWA to use the Protect/Encrypt button or mail flow rules I created for a work around. I have also tried using the Online Repair option, new Outlook profile, and uninstall and reinstall. These do not resolved the issue. Also, they do not have the AIP client software installed. I have not checked this out yet, has the other customers with the same licensing and set up or working as expected.217KViews0likes28CommentsAIP: Rights Management template can't be found
Hi All, I got the below error message (screenshot) while trying to apply the confidential label i have created. I have set my Confidential label permissions: Protection: Azure (cloud key) Set permissions Users: all members Permission: either of these preset permission: Co-Owner, Co-Author, Reviewer, Viewer and Custom not working when applying this Confidential level to client ms word, excel, etc. I have attached the screenshot of the error i encounter on client side. Newbie question here, do i need to create a label template in Rights Management? I thought this right management is already the AIP? Is there a way to prevent the "Do Not Forward" template from appearing in Outlook and OWA? The requirement is to only use the two built in Internal Company templates (Confidential and Confidential View Only). Thanks!Solved25KViews0likes5CommentsDifference between AIP and RMS?
Hi there I'm looking for information about that. Found the same question in the AIP FAQ but it doesn't really answer the question. It says that RMS is now part of AIP. Perhaps there is a chart out where I can see what can be done with each of them or what CANNOT be done with it. I read a lot about this but still I'm little confused so if someone's asking me... Thanks and best! UdoSolved23KViews1like2CommentsAIP Permissions error
We recently deployed AIP at a client with Office 365 Business Premium. We created a couple of custom labels and added them to the default policy. The users are properly licensed. Everything worked well then about a week ago they started receiving the error "Azure Information Protection cannot apply this label because you don't have permission to perform this action. You can request that this document owner grants you the required rights." The error occurs when the user tries to label any content, even using the default Public label. This issue affects all users in the tenant. Microsoft Premier support has reported that there is a known issue, but hasn't been able to provide documentation yet. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or has any guidance about the error. Thank you17KViews1like1CommentUser with full access to shared mailbox can't open protected email in Outlook
I have applied the Do Not Forward information protection template to messages addressed to a shared mailbox. When a user who has full access rights to the shared mailbox tries to open one of these protected messages in outlook, she gets a message stating that she doesn't have permission to open it. If she opens the shared mailbox in OWA and opens the email from there, it opens and displays successfully. Should she be able to open a protected message from a shared mailbox that she has full access rights to? Why would outlook say she doesn't have permission? What can I do to allow her access to the messages using Outlook?15KViews0likes14Comments
