In a continuous effort to bring some life to this place, I present you with some information about the newly released version of the AIP client: Version 1.4.21.0 Released: 03/15/2017 Change to requirements: The previous version introduced the new prerequisite of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 for the full client. Although not recommended, you can bypass this prerequisite with a custom installation parameter, DowngradeDotNetRequirement. For more information, see the client installation section from the admin guide. Fixes: Support for mapped drives to classify and protecting files. Support for large files ( >250 MB) in the viewer. When HYOK is configured, Outlook can apply labels that are configured to use Azure Rights Management templates or AD RMS templates. New features: The ability to set custom permissions from your Office application, which lets you set protection just for you, for external groups, or all users in another organization. For more information, see Set custom permissions for a document from the user guide. PDF files now support labels that apply classification-only. For PDF files, the viewer now supports options such as search, zoom, and rotate. To use these options, right-click on the file when it is displayed in the viewer.2KViews3likes0CommentsAzure Information Protection Dec update is now GA
Two months have passed after the "preview" version we got last December, and now the features included in that update have reached GA status. As a reminder, those include the unified client app, "departmental" templates, PowerShell improvements and more. Plus, we get two new features - sharing protected documents externally either with a specific group or an entire organization. Details are in the blog post: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2017/02/08/azure-information-protection-december-update-moves-to-general-availability/975Views2likes0CommentsDevice Stuck on Restart Screen After Update - Error Code: ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing an issue with my Windows device that started after a recent update. For the past three days, my device has been stuck on a restart screen with the following error message: Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you. For more information about this issue and possible fixes, visit https://www.windows.com/stopcode If you call a support person, give them this info: Stop Code: ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY I’ve tried restarting the device multiple times, but it keeps returning to this screen. I’m unable to access my system or troubleshoot further. Has anyone else encountered this issue after an update? Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!174Views1like2CommentsYour frist experiences?
I am working with RMS and now with the Azure Information Protection in a private and enterprise sector. In my opinion the new documentation is really great (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/). How do you start a AIP project? Can you explain your issues? I am working with a special topic in European dataprivacy and datasecurity, but I think we can have a worldwide discussion about AIP and the daily work with it.1.4KViews1like2CommentsAIP and SCC sensivity label feature parity
I watched the recent AIP Webinars and i have a couple of questions on AIP and SCC feature parity: - languages: does SCC provide or will provide the same XML file- based language feature and is this migrated when the labels are migrated from AIP to SCC Labels - Protection Activation in AIP: Do I need to turn this on, before i can use protection in the SCC - "Remove Protection" as a Label Settings in AIP: Do i have this in SCC? Is this migrated to SCC - "Advanced Settings" in the policies - is this available in SCC? - Global Policy in AIP- what happened to the Global Policy in the SCC, do i Just configured this myself? one additional question: I can change the order of policies by moving policies up and down. What does the order determine? Thanks, FranckSolved2.3KViews1like4CommentsGerman Podcast about Microsoft Cloud Technologies
Hey Everyone, whoever can understand German and is interested in Microsoft Cloud Technologies: My Friend Marco Scheel and I (Jan Geisbauer) frequently talk about Office 365, Azure AD and Cloud Security in our (more or less) weekly Podcast "Hairless in the Cloud". You can subscribe to it on one of your favorite platforms: https://anchor.fm/hairlessinthecloud Thanks and have fun listen to it! Your Hairless-Team 🙂1.4KViews1like2CommentsAIP Permissions error
We recently deployed AIP at a client with Office 365 Business Premium. We created a couple of custom labels and added them to the default policy. The users are properly licensed. Everything worked well then about a week ago they started receiving the error "Azure Information Protection cannot apply this label because you don't have permission to perform this action. You can request that this document owner grants you the required rights." The error occurs when the user tries to label any content, even using the default Public label. This issue affects all users in the tenant. Microsoft Premier support has reported that there is a known issue, but hasn't been able to provide documentation yet. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or has any guidance about the error. Thank you17KViews1like1CommentAzure Infomation Protection Client is not getting installed in my Windows 10

Thanks in Advance29KViews1like8CommentsWatermarking based on sensitivity labels misses the point - feature request
Hi, in the past I've used other RMS products, primarily focused on PDF content (yes, Adobe RMS and others) and the primary driver for watermarking RMS content is to determine the source of the leak and when it happened. So watermarks have the username of the person viewing the document and the time at which they were viewing it - so any screenshots/printouts/photos/etc identify who was looking at the document and when. However, Microsoft's dynamic watermarking using variables, is only able to determine the username and time when the labelling occurred. Doesn't this miss the point? Can I please request the ability to dynamically watermark at VIEW time, so that we can determine who is leaking content. Thanks Craig3.6KViews1like4Comments
