Which tool when: Project or Planner?
There's a reasonably new project management tool in play. When should you use Microsoft Project versus the newer Microsoft Planner? There are pros and cons to both and it's important you know them before getting started. That, and proponents of Project may be going overkill now that there's a user-friendly 'competitor'. Any ideas on the plan for Project Online and Azure DevOps integration? The process for TFS to Project Server on prem is no longer supported. Predefined field maps only available connectivity, so not really a solution we can use. How are others replacing the TFSFieldMapping? Thanks!Project Not Launching
Hi All, Not sure if anyone else has come across this yet seems to be a new "Feature" few users have raised a issue where they can't open project files by clicking on the file and opening it, you get the project splash screen and it just stays like that indefinitely The users are open the files from a OneDrive sync and its not a isolated issue 3 people have reported the exact same issue, the workaround I have found at the moment is launching Project by its self and opening the documents from within Project The Project version effected is: 16.0.17126.20132 Hoping this is just a broken MS update that can be patched out sooner rather than later.
Project accelerator deploy error
I need help with an error that occurs in the deployment of Project accelerator. The error is as follows: "Flow client error returned with status code "BadRequest" and details "{"error":{"code":"InvalidOpenApiFlow","message":" Flow saving failed with code 'OpenApiOperationParameterValidationFailed' and message 'Input parameter 'item' validation failed in workflow operation 'Create_a_new_record': The API operation 'CreateRecord' is missing required property 'item/msdyn_dayspermonth'.'."}} ". After the error occurs, reloading the page informs that the accelerator was implemented successfully. When working on the Accelerator we get an incomplete deploy, missing some features like "project suggestions" or some tab names, like the picture: Also we cannot edit the form, with the following message: This form is in a managed solution and cannot be edited
Connecting Microsoft Project with Python
Hello, I'm stuck in the development of a system that automates Microsoft Project, I hope you can give me a clue where to go from here. In the company where I work we need to automate the creation and modification of tasks in Microsoft Project. We use Project Web App (PWA) in SharePoint. The thing is that due to technical requirements our system is based on Python so it would be great to be able to connect with Python to MS Project. I did it, I connect to MS Project Professional using PyWin32 and I managed to create projects, upload them to PWA, and create/modify the 100.000 tasks. Where is the problem? It is extremely slow and takes many hours to create/modify all the tasks, which makes it unfeasible and I need a faster solution. I think it is because I have connected using win32com and this slows down the work. I also think that VBA for Microsoft Project is not very fast. Does anyone know of a faster way to get me to connect to Project? Maybe directly accessing PWA from Python? But I haven't managed to do that. I would have to create my own Python API?
