We are pleased to announce the preview of the PowerApps web part for SharePoint Online. https://powerapps.microsoft.com is a service that lets you build business apps that run in a browser or on a phone or tablet, with no coding experience required. Once you have created or customized an app using the service, you can add it to your SharePoint page with the PowerApps web part. Getting started To get started, just add the PowerApps web part from the toolbox and then enter the app's URL or the ID in the property pane. You can grab the app's URL or the ID from your https://web.powerapps.com/apps. Web part features Below are some of the key benefits of using the PowerApps web part to embed your apps on a SharePoint page: The Web part automatically signs you into PowerApps. The Web part automatically scales the app to a best fit in the canvas. If you do not like the best fit, you can resize the app (up to the app's max size) using the resizer control. Yes, it works in your SharePoint mobile app. Release details We are releasing this web part as a preview, so we can gather feedback and monitor the app's performance. We expect the web part to start rolling out to our customers in Targeted Release in early May 2018. We are excited for you to start using the PowerApps web part and we would love to hear your feedback! Notes Adding the app on a page does not automatically give users permissions to use the app. Users must be granted access to view the app. To learn how to share apps with specific users or security groups, or with your entire organization, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app. PowerApps are designed to work best with fixed sizes. Enable/Disable Comments on new Site Pages and News Items
When first creating a new Site Page or News Item, the button to switch Comments on/off does not appear, even when editing between saves. If you want to disable comments on a new Site Page, you have to publish the Page first and then Edit it again for the Comments section and button to appear. Dashboard with Excel file displayed on Sharepoint online page without interaction
Hello everybody, maybe it's a silly question but I'm unable to find a solution to my problem. Issue: create a site on sharepoint online which displays Excel file and refresh on schedule - without any interaction The file is supposed to be viewed on a TV in a browser and the file is going to be updated regularly I've created a page and displayed Excel file - but after site refresh I need to hoover mouse over it, otherwise its blank embeded code to area inside the excel file requires same interaction I know that in the past (in old site editing interface) it was possible to add a script to a page, however I managed to find this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/where-are-the-content-editor-and-script-editor-web-parts-in-sharepoint-ed6cc9ce-8b2a-480c-a655-1b9d7615cdbd So the old way is no longer possible. Can anyone think of a solution?
Contents section within a page
I would like to create a contents section or index within an individual Sharepoint page. E.g. on Wikipedia, a contents box is automatically generated and arranged based on the sections and nested content within the page. I would have expected this to be available as a web part but the only way round seems to be to: 1) Ensure that there is a Heading 1, 2 or 3 for each individual section I want indexed. This automatically generates a hyperlink for that section. 2) Manually creating a list of the sections and mannually creating the hyperlink to each section. Clearly this is a set of additional steps, not suitable for more than 20-30 items, and doesn't update if a section is added or modified. I initially tried Collapsible sections, which is inappropriate as it doesn't allow searching within the page for collapsed content, and the section titles do not appear in the immersive reader. Because of this accessibility gap, our org policy is not to use Collapsible sections. In theory it could be possible to create a list for this scenario, but I still don't know if that could be indexed in this way, and means that I cannot adequately arrange the content in each section as I want. A flow could also be an option, but I would imaging would be even more complex. Are there any other workarounds for this, or better ways to manage long lists of content?
Modern News Pages and Highlight Content Web Part
I have created a site column called BlogVersion (choice) and added this column to my site pages library. Most of the pages have the choice column set to "Old" and only the current blog page set to "Current". I am trying to use the highlighted content webpart and looking for a managed property which contains blog and the webpart shows BlogVersionOWSCHCS but when I put a value of Current, nothing shows up. I have tried to re-index the library (office365) and will wait to see if there is a change but am I missing a step?
