How do I change the alert sounds in Outlook for Mac? When I go to Preferences, then Notifications and Sounds, the dropdown menu for Sound Set says Default. There is no other choice of sound sets on that menu. When I click the arrow next to the individual events (New message, Message sent, Reminder, etc.) it plays a sound for each--apparently the only sound available. I've Googled up a few suggestions that didn't work: I went into System Preferences > Notifications and deleted Outlook from the list of applications, then restarted Outlook. No change in Outlook Preferences. I added some new sound files (various formats--.wav, .mp3, .m4a, .aiff) to user>Library>Sounds and restarted my Mac. I still don't have any new options in Outlook Preferences. I found instructions for creating a new sound set in an existing Outlook Sound Sets folder located in user>Library>Group Containers>UBF8T346G9.Office>Outlook>Outlook Sound Sets. I put the same new sounds there. I tried it with them loose in the Outlook Sound Sets folder, and also with them contained in a new folder titled "my new sound set." I quit and restarted Outlook. It didn't give me any new options in Outlook preferences. I have a current Office 365 subscription on a MacBook Pro. The Outlook version is 16.42. I'm running Mac OS 10.14 Mojave.39KViews3likes17CommentsOrg Explorer in Outlook
It's been a while since this feature was posted as going into the preview release / targeted release of Outlook, but haven't seen it hit the general availability ring. Today now I noticed all the documentation seems to be updated that the feature has been removed from Outlook effective August 2022. Has development on this ceased, or is it being moved to another product?Unread message problems
After installing the lastest update 15.26 (160809) the Mark mail as read outlook preference option is ignored. Once you view the email in the preview plane it is marked as unread. If you mark it as unread, it changes back to read once you click on another email. Anybody else seeing this?New Outlook: Plain Text Until Proven Innocent?
I used to turn off Rich Format emails and just view them plain text in old Outlook; but I have been forced to upgrade to new Outlook and I do not see the option listed anymore. Where has it been moved? Also, is there a way to turn it on network wide? Also, how stupid and irresponsible is it of Microsoft to bury a setting like that when so many people's jobs rely on the computer systems of their livelyhood not being encrypted by malware? It makes me feel like Microsoft is trying to rid the world of additional companies.Office 2016 crashes on OSX 10.14.3
I've been using my MBP since 2016 with Office 2016. I've generally kept the system updated. It only has Adobe Creative Cloud (4-5 apps) and Office 2016. Latest update being version 16.16.7 However, it keeps crashing since yesterday and reinstalling will only allow it to run once or twice. Once I exit Outlook or Word, it will no longer start up and typically crashes with something similar to below - varies depending on the app of course: Error Signature: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS ExceptionEnumString: 1 Exception Code: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0000000000000000) Anyone got any clue besides me uninstalling and reinstalling every day?Question: Adding Undo and Redo Buttons to the Toolbar in Office 365 Apps
My Microsoft Office got updated today, I was taken to the Coming Soon section as soon as I opened it through a pop-up box and I updated to the new and refresh look of Office but what I found is the undo and button came to the ribbon. I could remove those buttons from ribbon but cannot figure out how to add them in the toolbar as depicted in the picture. Can anyone please help me?SolvedOutlook 365 for macOS, Contacts do not show in Addressee field
I thought I would wean off macMail and Use Outlook, it appears to sync better and has additional features. BUT there is a major deal breaker. I have imported all of my contacts (note not an exchange account). They appear in Contacts. When I try typing an email address into addressee, CC, BCC I do not get a list of possible addresses. In fact I get nothing from previous addressees or from contacts. If I send an email to 5 people, I have to type in the full addresses even though they are in my contacts. This is just unworkable, so I've switched back to macMail which does not have this issue. Again in Outlook, I go to contacts and there are several hundred entries, yet I need to type in email addresses in full. Of course if I do a Reply or Reply All, then it picks up the email addresses of the senders. As I said, it is a dealbreaker so any help appreciated. Thx, KevinMove to Folder freezes in Outlook 365 Mac
On my m1 MacBook Air running macOS 11.6, I have Outlook 365. After installing the latest update, anytime I two-finger click on a message and choose Move to Folder, Outlook 365 (running in "New Outlook" mode) freezes and I have to force quit it. I am connected to a single Office 365 Exchange account and do have an enormous folder hierarchy (3 levels and more than 1,000 folders), but two-finger clicking, choosing Move to Folder, seeing the folder list, picking the folder, and then clicking Move were all instantaneous until the update. Now, as soon as I choose Move to Folder, Outlook is immediately unresponsive and stays unresponsive, but CPU usage reported by Activity Monitor goes to 100% and stays there. I have waited over an hour for it to resolve with no luck, and I do have a fast connection (about 400Mbps up/down over wifi). I have tried removing and re-adding my Office 365 account in Outlook, but no luck. Note: Everything works fine in "Old Outlook" mode - it's just "New Outlook" mode where this is broken.SolvedWhsdn is the new 'account switcher' fearure suppose to be available for Outlook?
It's been over a year since the Verge published this piece for Microsoft: https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/16/16481190/microsoft-outlook-windows-mac-redesign-features And during multiple sessions at Ignite 2018, representatives from the Outlook team were doing demos where they were running Outlook Pro Plus (2019) with the new left panel 'account switcher' feature clearly active and working, but it has yet to hit the Office Insider Release Channel. WHEN is this going to happen? This is a way overdue feature, and one that's preventing half my clients from being willing to move to Outlook as their primary mail client.Outlook message counts
I'm using the new UI in Outlook (16.52) and I can't see a way to see a message count of my current folder and/or selection - e.g. if I select a number of messages, the old UI would show me a count of that number in the bottom footer of the window. Am I just missing this or don't have some option turned on, or is it not there yet in the new UI. I used this feature a lot in the old UI so I'm missing it big time if it is not present in the new UI.
