Allow muting a person only for me
Sometimes I am in a meeting where one of the persons in the meeting is actually near me in the world outside the screen. In this case the sound is a bit maddening since there is a small delay between the sound from the person and the sound through the teams interface. In these cases, I would like to mute the person only for me since I am sitting near and can hear the person fine without headphones. Right now I need to takeoff headphones when the person is talking and putting it back as the person finishes talking.
small white window that opens during sharing in a meeting
Hi, I've Teams vers. 26120.3106.4722.3411. For some time when I access to a meeting and sharing the screen, a window or a presentation, a small white windows appears at the bottom right and I cannot close it. To close this window and to prevent it from opening again I need to disconnect to Teams also for 2-3 times. Well, how could I solve a such issue permanently? Feature Proposal: OS-level Intelligent Task Organizer (Windows + Copilot)
A Idea about Intelligent Tasks organizer, I have to remember a lot of things during the team meetings like what is been said (we'll schedule a call or follow up etc.,) and what has been communicated in the emails (I'll get back to you after 2 weeks, or call us after two weeks) , And notes that I took in the notepad, or notepad ++,or sticky notes, or word, or one note. I want to chronologically display tasks on the right hand side of the laptop screen just like sticky note and it shall display all tasks one by one, it shall remove tasks are already complete (email sent with confirmation). and arrange, adjust every few mins according to priority/time or user added priority. App shall display small icon (just like chat) upon clicking it shall display ordered list of tasks. and desktop apps like teams/note/word/notepad++,sticky notes can participate by default or other apps like notepad++ can be onboarded manually in to the app. You can use a local model which infers the meaning of “I’ll call you in two weeks” - who is “I”? you or them? “Let’s follow up later” - task or casual statement? “I sent it” - which task did this complete? You can use a local model such that Corporate Teams/Outlook access may allow by corporate policy. Need to put much emphasis on false positives if the app keeps inventing tasks. Do not need to bring big LLMs in to the picture for inference, because of corporate policies may not allow. Microsoft provides operating system,office 365, tools with copilot, the inference can be possible because of all apps/content can be accessible at os level. Problem: Users capture tasks across multiple tools: Teams meetings and chats Outlook emails Notes (OneNote, Notepad, Sticky Notes, Word) Tasks become fragmented, untracked, and often lost. Proposed Solution: A lightweight system-level task layer integrated with Windows + Copilot that: Core Features Automatic task extraction From Teams, Outlook, notes, and user text Example interpretations: “I’ll call you in 2 weeks” “Let’s follow up later” Context-aware inference (local model) Identify: Task owner (“I” vs “you”) Priority signals Deadlines Minimize false positives Chronological task timeline Tasks auto-organized by: Time Priority Recency Floating task panel (desktop UI) Docked widget (like Sticky Notes or chat bubble) Expand/collapse view Always visible option Automatic task lifecycle tracking Detect completion: “Email sent” “File shared” Remove or mark complete automatically Continuous re-prioritization Adjust every few minutes based on: New inputs Deadlines User behavior Privacy-first architecture Use local models (SLM) instead of large cloud LLMs Enterprise admin control for data access Why this matters: Millions of users manually track tasks across fragmented tools, losing productivity daily. Regarding Teams Meeting Media Transport Behavior in VDI Optimization Scenario
Hello Microsoft Teams Engineering Team, I am currently working on a Browser Content Redirection / media offload implementation for a VDI environment, where WebRTC media transport is handled through a local native component while the Teams application continues running inside the virtual desktop session. While testing, I observed that: 1:1 calls successfully receive audio and video media But in meetings auido / video RTP is never forwarded despite successful ICE, DTLS, and SRTP establishment DTLS ApplicationData traffic is present during meetings, suggesting DataChannel/SCTP activity Based on transport-level observations, it appears that Teams meetings may rely on SCTP/DataChannel communication for SFU video subscription management, while 1:1 calls do not require the same subscription flow. I wanted to ask whether: Teams meeting video forwarding depends on active bidirectional SCTP/DataChannel connectivity Meeting video subscriptions are expected to be coordinated over the WebRTC data channel/control plane Split ownership of media transport and control-plane transport could affect expected Teams meeting behavior in VDI optimization scenarios Thank you for your time and guidance. Feature Idea: Each participant can speak in their own native language, and Teams will automatically translate and play the speech audio in the listener’s selected language in real time. Example: Telugu speaker talks in Telugu Kannada user hears Kannada audio Hindi user hears Hindi audio English user hears English audio This would be more powerful than subtitles because users can continue conversations naturally in their mother tongue without needing to read captions constantly. Many users, including myself, have encountered persistent issues using Bluetooth headsets with Microsoft Teams, particularly in the desktop app. Common problems include: Audio Output Problems: Low audio quality or no audio at all. Microphone Issues: The microphone does not function consistently or at all. Connection Drops: Devices disconnect unexpectedly during or after breakout sessions. Specific Trigger Points: These issues are often limited to Teams and do not occur in other applications. Notable Observations: Disabling the "Handsfree Telephony" service on the headset in Windows resolves many of these problems but renders the headset as a simple audio output device, necessitating an external microphone. The issues seem prevalent across various brands (e.g., Jabra, Poly Voyager, Sony, Bose) These issues are frustrating, especially since they are less frequent in other apps like Zoom or on the Teams web app. It seems related to how Teams interacts with Bluetooth profiles (A2DP vs. HFP) and prioritizes them during meetings. New MTR devices unable to connect workplace
Hello collective im facing an issue with new Poly devices Poly X52 + Poly TC10 + Poly Trio 60 Poly X52 + Poly TC10 Both devices can not connect to M365. Error message: "Couldn't connect to Workplace Join. try again, or contact your admin." Firewall settings seems to be ok and devices are on the same VLAN.
