I was editing data when I noticed that my Network Attached Storage (NAS) hard drives were thrashing. Technically, that is what is supposed to happen when configured to update 'real time'. I have been a long-time user of a batch file to execute ROBOCOPY. It is clean and efficient, one of the better items Microsoft has created. Go figure, right? Anyway, being who I am and what I have done in my career, I got the idea to edit in Windows on two separate NVME hard drives (much data and large files) then execute a batch file to run ROBOCOPY. This consolidated all data onto one spin-drive in my Windows PC. The first time I did this, my DH2300 NAS was active. All configured SYNC and BACKUP tasks indicated 'BAD' and would not execute. I had to delete the NAS tasks and recreate them. After several attempts and recreations, I thought that I might shutdown the UGREEN NAS DH2300, run the Windows PC batch file for ROBOCOPY, then start the UGREEN NAS back up in order for the UGREEN NAS Client Sync & Backup app to 'do its thing'. WRONG! All tasks indicated 'BAD' again. I've made it a practice to delete the NAS Tasks after running Windows ROBOCOPY then recreating all seven NAS tasks. Only then will these properly execute. Would anyone have any idea as to what is going on to cause this? I've asked on UGREEN's FB resource page, and they are suggesting that it is a ROBOCOPY issue (Pass-the-buck = EASY). I suppose that's possible, BUT I've used ROBOCOPY for YEARS. It skips over any unchanged file and only changes/updates files when changed. Still, I must ask.7Views0likes0CommentsLooking for a way to make adult content extremely difficult to access on my Windows 11 laptop
Hello everyone, I know this is an unusual question, but I sincerely hope someone here can help me. I am an 18-year-old student who has been struggling with an addiction to adult content for the past four years. I have been trying very hard to overcome it, and at one point I was able to stay away from it for almost a year. Unfortunately, since last October, I have relapsed and have been trying everything I can think of to prevent myself from accessing this content again. So far, I have tried: Changing my IPv4 and IPv6 DNS settings to family-safe filtering services. Editing the hosts file to block websites. Using various website blockers and parental control tools. Trying different software restrictions and browser-based solutions. The problem is that I am the one who configured all of these. When I experience a strong urge, I already know exactly how to disable or bypass every restriction because I set it up myself. Unfortunately, I cannot ask my parents or anyone close to me for help. Discussions about topics like this are extremely difficult in my family, and I don't feel comfortable involving them. Because of that, I'm trying to find a technical solution that I cannot easily undo on my own. I'm not asking how to bypass restrictions—I want the exact opposite. I am looking for the strongest possible Windows-based solution that makes it as difficult as possible for me to access adult content, even if I know a lot about computers. Are there any Windows features, account configurations, Group Policy settings, security options, or other methods that could make these restrictions significantly harder to remove? Even if they are not completely impossible to bypass, I would like something that requires so much effort that it gives me time to stop and reconsider. Any advice or suggestions would mean a great deal to me. This has become a serious personal struggle, and I am doing everything I can to overcome it because I genuinely believe my future depends on breaking this habit. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.27Views0likes0CommentsAccount hacked
Hello, The title pretty much sums it up. My account got hacked while I was asleep and it had the passkey removed while I was asleep. I tried to recover it after I woke up but the email was already changed. I tried the account recovery form but had no success with it and I do not know where to go now. I do not mind not being able to recover it but I would like it to be disabled because the One Drive connected to it has some of my files. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.86Views0likes1CommentChanging user to administrator
I hope this is the right place to post my question/problem. I bought my laptop pre-installed at a shop some time ago. Now I need to be able to use administrator rights to perform some alterations. The shop was kind enough to give me some of the passwords they use to install laptops but that is the problem: How do I login as administrator ? If this is not the right place for this question can you please re-direct me to the right place. Thanks in advance.42Views0likes1CommentI cannot log in to my work account using SMS authentication

Hello, I’m currently locked out of my Microsoft account and I’m unable to sign in because it’s asking for verification through the Microsoft Authenticator app, which I no longer have access to. I no longer have the phone that had the Authenticator installed, and I’m not signed in on any other trusted devices. When I try to recover the account through the standard recovery form, I either get denied or it redirects me back to the same verification method that I can’t complete. This account is important to me because it is linked to my email, files, and other Microsoft services. I can provide any information needed to verify ownership, such as previous passwords, billing details, or account activity. I would really appreciate guidance on: How I can recover my account without access to the Authenticator app Whether there is a way to reset or remove two-factor authentication in this situation Any additional steps I can take to prove my identity and regain access Thank you in advance for any help or direction you can provide.1.3KViews0likes1CommentHackers keep getting prompting me for a code on authenticator
Hello, I'm noticing that I get a random prompt for a code on the Authenticator app whose location appears to be in the Netherlands. I'm under the impression that these hackers just try logging into numerous accounts hoping that their victims will unknowingly push on a confirmation number and let them in. Is there a way to help prevent this? I would imagine that preventing logins based on unusal locations would help stop it but would like to hear your take. Thanks!5.9KViews0likes3CommentsMFA reset needed - lost phone and access to account with it
Hi! I am a single-tenant MS 365 account (business) and I lost my phone and cannot access my account any more. I cannot log into my account (because I need my Authenticator) and I cannot set up the Authenticator (because I need to log into my account for that) and I am desperate for a solution as this is my business account and has everything I need to keep my business going. I lost access on March 2, had access to Outlook on my browser until early morning on March 4 when I completely lost access to everything. What I do have: the phone number that is attached to this account (it is supposed to be one of the sign on methods, but the system won't let me use it) the password (also not able to use it to log in) the email domain is also mine, I can prove ownership I have the last invoice for the account subscription and can also provide the billing information as well as the card number that is attached to this account for automatic billing I am still using the same main device (laptop) that I have been using since the account was set up I am the only employee and the legally authorized representative for the company that the account is for (and the company name is on the invoice as well as the tenant name) You can also see that there have been no successful logins since I lost access where the account was used almost every day since it was set up (including some weekends), also proving that I am the user for the account. I am currently using my old Microsoft account to contact Support via chat but they are telling me a different thing each time we talk, I have literally submitted tickets/contacted 5 different departments/systems and just keep being ping-ponged around and the Support number that I found is asking for an 8-digit code which I guess is also the Authenticator code that I cannot get as I lost access to my old Authenticator so now I have no idea how to proceed. Tickets that I can track: SIR22967120 - I just received a notification that this has been closed because this was not the correct place to raise this YQN2RK7D - no response yet SGBQ7U9T - no response yet 4766105c-db53-40b3-92b8-ddd8c7968a0d - only the auto-reply that request was received an 1 email saying that the provided email address was not found in their system, I followed up with additional details in several emails but no further response or confirmation that anything has been received. I also sent an email to mailto:email address removed for privacy reasonsbut no response there as well I am ready to send any information/documentation to prove that the account is mine, please let me know how to proceed. I am really desperate for a solution here - this is my business account and everything I need is there - my email with all my contacts, the pending deliverables to clients, my working files, etc. This is week 3 already and I haven't had anyone ask me for any proof of ownership, documentation or anything, I don't know what to do to understand if anyone is even investigating anything regarding this, please help. Looking forward to any suggestions!Solved408Views0likes1Comment
