Hello All and I am new to this forum so, ya, I thought I would start off with a hello to everyone! My problem is this. It started with WMCE2K5. I installed it on my computer and then after a couple of years it crashed and wouldn't start, so I installed it again. With no problems I might add. Over the next couple of years after that I restored my computer with a fresh Windows install (Still Talking About media center edition 2k5) it worked the first time although it WOULD NOT install the second time. It said it had been disabled due to someone publishing the code. So I bought another copy and it worked. I bought windows 10 (fast forward some years later) and installed it on a pc that I built. 2 or 3 years later that computer had some problems and I had to build another. I had a really nice motherboard by ASROCK although it was not compatible w/win 11. So I attempted to install windows 10 although the win 10 password was disabled by Microsoft. I tried calling Microsoft and there was no way to get through. I finally got through and was given the run-around with no answer to my question. I thought for a last chance I could try the Brand New Win11 password on Win10 and it worked! Now I am going to be building a new pc soon (got part of it today) and I am worried about Win11 not working... There are 3 or 5 licenses on this ($300 software) (???) (Which I have never used???). What can I do if they try to rob me of my $300 software? I DO NOT & SHOULD NOT have to buy it again, and for what, so it can quit on me? Buy the way I think Microsoft is an awesome company (all I run is Windows) and I have 2 Xbox Series X consoles with 600 digital games! If someone from Microsoft could get back to me that would be great! I hope everyone has a great rest of their day and a good weekend! Thank You! windowsfreak5Views0likes0CommentsCan't transfer Windows 11 License on linked account?
Hello all, I recently got an upgraded PC, and I'm attempting to transfer my Windows 11 License to that new PC. According to my previous PC, my Windows 11 License is linked to my Microsoft account. I checked to make sure it is Retail and NOT OEM. For context, I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, so my license was originally for Windows 10. However, to my knowledge, this shouldn't be a problem. I had Windows 10 for awhile, so I can't remember how/where I purchased it. If I had to guess, I likely got it from the Best Buy in my area. However, I still have the product key. However, once I installed Windows 11 on my new PC and tried to activate it, it wouldn't activate. I tried getting in touch with customer support, and they are telling me that my Windows license is not genuine. This doesn't make sense to me because in my Activation Settings, it literally says "Windows is activated with a Digital License and linked to your microsoft account." How can it not be a genuine license if it is linked to my Microsoft account? I can't imagine I would ever purchase anything from non-reputable sources for this exact reason. I'm not sure what else to do. I don't have the spare cash for another Windows license. Does anyone have any wisdom they could bestow upon me with regards to this issue? Thanks.26Views0likes2CommentsWindows 11 Pro activation fails indicting hardware changed
Receive unable to activate windows - looks like hardware on this device has changed My old laptop was dying. Proactively purchased a win 11 pro license through my company benefits site since I knew my current system would have to be replaced. Purchased a new laptop with Win 11 Home. Changed to local account for login and uninstalled some bloatware. Attempted to upgrade to Pro and receivied the unable to activate due to hardware changes. This is an out of the box laptop, no hardare changes have been made. I tried using the generic key and the change to the new license fix posted on this site and still get the same activation error. I now have an unactivated Windows 11 Pro on the system. I logged into my MS account and checked licensed devices under Microsoft Account - Devices Strangely, it no longer lists my old HP laptop which was a win 11 pro. Just the new ASUS laptop. I had hopes to replace a few motherboard solder points and revice the old HP system for a grandchild. Concerned now that the HP system is missing that i will encounter licensing issues for it as well once it is revived. Additonal point, not sure if it matters, but I did use the same device name for the new laptop that i had on the old one Thanks, Kent Engle104Views0likes3CommentsHad Win 10 (not OEM), Upgraded to Win 11 Cloned Drive But Have New Motherboard
Hi- I started with a retail version of Win 10 Home, upgraded to Win 11 Home but had hardware issues with my Motherboard. After cloning the drive and replacing the Motherboard, I now get the message that windows is not activated. I try entering my Win 10 Home key and get the error 0xc004c060. Not sure how to proceed given I have a legit retail copy of Win 10 Home. Any ideas?24Views0likes1Comment500 Million Microsoft Users Say No To Windows 11
Many Microsoft users are expressing strong dissatisfaction with Windows 11, highlighting concerns over privacy, forced updates, and increased system monitoring. A growing number of users feel that the new operating system limits their control, restricts customization, and pushes unwanted features that compromise their digital autonomy.187Views0likes0CommentsWhen charging, the power supply still shows 14%.
I am experiencing an issue with my device's battery when charging. Even after leaving it plugged in for a while, the power supply still shows only 14% remaining, and the battery percentage does not increase despite being connected to the charger. This makes me concerned that the battery may not be charging properly or there could be a problem with the power supply or the battery calibration. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the charger, restarting the device, and using different outlets, but the issue persists. The battery percentage remains stuck at 14%, and the device does not seem to be charging as it should. I am seeking advice on how to troubleshoot this problem and whether it might be a hardware fault or a software issue that needs fixing. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.9Views0likes0CommentsOEM Activation
Recently upgraded my SSD and whenever I try to reactivate windows 11 on the fresh install, the troubleshooter fails. Is there any sure fire way to contact support to see about them possibly reactivating my license? Better go ahead and add it is a legit activation of windows 11.4Views0likes0CommentsSP2016/2019 Office Online licensing

My current PC runs Win 10 Pro; I also signed up for ESU. I plan to buy a new PC within the next few weeks, and most likely it will come with Win 11 Home installed. Can I upgrade this new PC from Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro by using the product key for Win 10 Pro from my old PC? An article I read online seemed to suggest that it was doable.143Views0likes3CommentsSave the date: Windows Office Hours - November 20, 2025
