Edge problem with full screen mode (a.k.a) --kiosk mode
From Edge Version 79.0.309.68 All the way to Version 81.0.396.0 canary, they have this problem. when I use this switch/command on the target of Edge shortcut: "--kiosk" (without quotes) I do get to launch Edge in full screen mode, but there is no way to interact with the toolbar anymore, neither is there any way to close Edge, other than pressing Windows key to show the taskbar. Edge Canary and Dev have this flag: #edge-enable-shy-ui More info here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/finally-here-the-real-full-screen-experience-in-edge-insider/m-p/1011888 and you can see how it behaves in fullscreen mode with that flag. but when kiosk mode is used, that behavior doesn't work anymore.
OneDrive won't sign out users on Android multi-user kiosk mode
Hello, We are trying to configure multiple tablets to be used at a multi-user level in kiosk mode. The devices we're working on are running Android 11 and are model SM-T220. We have enrolled these devices with the Corporate-owned dedicated device enrollment profile and have created a specific configuration profile for the tablets' intended use. One issue we are running into is when a user is logged out and another signs in, the old user's OneDrive account continues to stay logged in where it can be accessed when another user signs in. Looking to see how access to other users' OneDrive accounts can be made inaccessible when logged in with another account. Thank you, Jess
Microsoft Edge in Kiosk mode (assigned access) clear memory/cache after restarting the kiosk
Hi, I've already asked a question here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/msedge_other-msedge_win10/microsoft-edge-in-kiosk-mode-assigned-access-clear/86756397-9c00-439e-910a-991c5a78f449?messageId=7acb8ec2-8633-47ab-ab74-819327e652e9 but I was referred to this forum. Maybe someone will know the answer to my question. When Microsoft Edge is set in kiosk mode (assigned access), the browser memory/cache is probably cleaned up after restarting the kiosk. This will lose the settings for the Web Serial API. Can this behavior be turned off? I do not want to set the COM Port every time the kiosk is restarted. Thanks, Pavel
KIOSK Mode iOS/iPadOS with Edge and restriction to only one Website
Hi Guys, i´ve setup a iOS Device for Kioskmode with a Regprofile without User Affinity. Additonaly the Config comes with the Kioskmodesetting and the Edge Browser with 2 Appconfigurations ( 1 targets device the other one targets the App). These are the Settings that ive configured: com.microsoft.intune.mam.managedbrowser.NewTabPage.CustomURL IntuneMAMAllowedAccountsOnly IntuneMAMUPN IntuneMAMRequiredAccounts com.microsoft.intune.mam.managedbrowser.AllowListURLs So far so good. The Device enrolls userless. Through the VPP the Edge browser installs and the Settings in the Appconfiguration policy working perfectly fine - except the Allowed URLs Setting. As a result no URL is blocked and the User can use every Website he wants. APP´s are setup as well. Any ideas are much appreciated.
App Mode / Kiosk Mode in Linux
Hello I am trying to figure out how to launch edge in kiosk mode. Using latest version of microsoft-edge dev on Linux. Launching EDGE with the command arguments: "microsoft-edge -app="http://foo.bar" does NOT work and only launches EDGE normally. OS: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy Kernel: 5.17.3-051703-generic DE: Gnome42
Windows 10 Kiosk mode and Windows updates / Notifications / Restarts
Working with an emergency services provider who are looking at new software and devices for their field cars. They are looking at Kiosk mode, either Single or Multi-app mode. They have some strict requirements, such as: -No Windows update restarts at any time the device is out in the field during a call out. (We cant really set active hours as the nature of this job means devices could be out at any time of the day / night) -User to get notifications of pending restarts Are any of these possible within Windows 10 Kiosk mode?
AzureADSharedMode - Teams without PIN
I prepared in Intune profile for Samsung devices in kiosk mode with a multi-app setting. I added Teams, Outlook, Egde and Managed Home Screen as apps. In addition, I also created a configuration profile for the Managed Home Screen application in which I set that it is necessary to configure a PIN for the session. I also set the Require PIN code after returning from screen saver option. Everything works great until the user leaves the Teams app on or someone calls the user logged into Teams. At this point, no PIN is needed to unlock the device. You can easily access Teams of the logged-in user. The user is asked for the session PIN only when he wants to switch to another app. I didn't set screen lock in android settings because in my opinion it's pointless since the device is in shared mode. Have you encountered anything like this? It poses a potential security risk if a logged-in user leaves the Teams app open, puts the phone down and walks away from it, and at that moment someone calls the phone and the person who picks it up without probelm gets access to the logged-in user's teams.
Issue with Adjusting Volume in Windows 11 Multi App Kiosk
Hi, I am trying to configure windows 11 Multi App Kiosk mode for 24H2 OS Build 26100.4946 I’ve successfully configured the Multi App Kiosk on Windows 11 24H2, but I can't adjust the volume, unlike in Windows 10.The device does allow me to configure the volume via the function keys in the keyboard but it doesn't allow me to configure it via the option available in the taskbar As a workaround, I have to allow settings in my environment as app and open the volume mixer by right clicking the taskbar Is there a way to enable volume control through the taskbar in this setup?
Intune - Multi-App Kiosk Mode Android - Managed Home Screen - Can't return to Call Screen
Hi there, Here is the issue: In Multi-App Kiosk Mode for Android A user makes or receives a phone call that is long enough to trigger lock screen Call can continue indefinitely despite no longer seeing the Telephony UI Time to hang up, enter your passcode, you are taken to Managed Home Screen From here you can't access the Telephony UI and hence you can't hang up! The call interface Telephony UI is not an App on its own that you can Add to the Home Screen Any ideas welcome. Ta, Ian Hearnes
