I see some strange behavior and can't explain why it is not working. I am playing around with the MSIX package and shortcut icons. I created them using the Visual Asset generator (https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mz6qrqtdkf2?hl=en-US&gl=US) and copied them to the Assets folder. When configuring the shortcuts with the files, the shortcuts and package logo stays blank. When I open the manifest and point the entries hardcoded to the files the icons appear. Like this config below. <Application Id="PSFLAUNCHERTwo" Executable="PsfLauncher2.exe" EntryPoint="Windows.FullTrustApplication"> <uap3:VisualElements AppListEntry="default" BackgroundColor="transparent" Description="Fair Prod" DisplayName="Fair Prod" Square150x150Logo="Assets\Edge-Square150x150Logo.scale-400.png" Square44x44Logo="Assets\Edge-Square44x44Logo.scale-400.png" VisualGroup="FCA"></uap3:VisualElements> </Application> But when removing the ".scale-400" part of the files, the icons would not appear. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong here?174Views0likes1Commentcant leave windows 11 insider program
Hello, i cannot leave the insider program. Im in windows 11 beta channel right now. If i try to leave the proramm by settings -> windows update -> windows insider program i have two options. I should be able to choose to leave the program with the next windows release, but this option is blurred out and i can not interact with it. The other option is the link at the bottom, which redirects me to a microsoft website. After logging in, it also tells me i can not leave the program now because my mail adress isnt registered. But u dont have another mail adress. I already contacted the support about that, the case number is 7034906605. We tried to create a new user and leave the program by this, but it also didnt work. I also did a windows reinstall with keeping my personal files and data. I would like to get around this issue without having to completely reinstall my windows because its a long process. Is there any way you can get my PC out of the beta insider program please? Essentially what appears in the title. In settings I have selected two keyboard languages/layouts, English (US) and Spanish (Uruguay). However, whenever I press win+space to change the layout, a third one appears that is labeled English (US) with Spanish just below it. It appears to be a mixture between the two. Whenever I fiddle with the settings it seems to disappear for a while but then it randomly comes back. This has been happening for a good while, at least half a year. Hi! I have this weird issue that causes stuttering and slowdowns in entire system: mouse become jumpy, sound's cracking, animations are jerky. Things that triggers this issue: - scanning for new devices via device manager - installing or updating some drivers (network, audio) - launching some games (Apex Legends) though it happens randomly few times a month - rarely happens randomly on it's own. Stuttering persist until I restart PC. Also reboot take a lot of time when it occurs. Happens in all versions of Windows 10 since two years ago. It's also present in Windows 11. Things I've already tried: - scannow - clean install - removing periferals - disabling devices - updating drivers and BIOS - disabling XMP profiles - temps are OK My specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: 16,0GB Motherboard: Micro-Star International Co. In the Windows 10 update window → Advanced Settings, there is a checkbox "Update Notifications". In Ukrainian localization it was literally translated as "Оновити сповіщення" (To update notifications). It should be "Сповіщення про оновлення" (Notifications about update).952Views0likes1CommentHow to set my VPN connection as Non-metered in Windows 10?
I want to explicitly tell Windows 10 1909 to consider my VPN connection as non-metered. whenever I connect to my VPN server, created from the Windows settings, apps like Mail stop showing me notifications, Store won't automatically update apps and things like that. Windows by default thinks my VPN connection is set as metered. I went to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost but there is no mention of my VPN connection's name I manually set them all to "1" which means Non-metered. can anyone help me set my VPN connection as Non-metered so Windows 10 can use Internet as much as it wants just like when I connect to Internet without VPN? Thanks More info on this: this is how advanced settings for WiFi looks like in Windows settings And this is how advanced settings for VPN looks like in Windows settings You see the part about "Metered Connection" is missing from VPN settings! Another thing I tried was disabling SlowLinkDetection in Registry, setting it to 0: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\SlowLinkDetectEnabled It didn't help. I test it simply but sending an Email to myself on phone and watch for the notification banner on Windows 10. when I'm connected directly to WIFI, the notification banner appears as soon as the mail is arrived but when I'm connected to VPN, the notification banner only appears when I manually open the Mail app in Windows 10 (UWP). I use PPTP/SSTP protocols, set them up in Windows 10 settings natively.1.8KViews0likes0Comments
