Create an Audit for all sites associated to a Hub Site
There is a specific Hub Site that we created for documents that we have migrated from a legacy system to be reviewed by staff. There are over 20 sites associated with the Hub Site. We pull Audit Searches of activity for use with a PowerBI that we use to help determine activity and volume of usage. I was hoping that there is an easier way to pull the Audits for all of the sites associated with the Hub Site rather than having to pull an audit log for each and every single site.
Sharepoint central hub with active web sites
Hello, I have one central hub (photo attached) and 4 web sites. If I open central hub web page and manage pages, I see only 2 websites and other 2 websites I do not see. I do not know. I checked all the settings and I see them the same websites. Could you help me please ? Regards Ondrej
Using a hub site as a distribution portal
Hi, I have a set of separate sites sharing the same basic layout, lists formats, etc.. Each site has its separate set of members, news, etc.. In principle, pretty much like a normal hub site setup. However, the separation between each of the sub sites is much clearer than a normal hub site. There won't be any crossover from one site to another (e.g. a member of one site would normally not have access to any of the neighbouring sites, and shouldn't really have access to the hub either if they don't need to). Where the normal purpose of a hub site is to gather information from different places into one single hub, my intention is to use a hub site as a distribution portal. From time to time, I might want to push news to all sub sites from a central portal. I imagine there'll be more stuff as well in the future that might benefit from a central place to manage things. So the question is, can I (and if so: should I) be using a hub site as a distribution portal for my case?
How do you configure navigation for a Hub site? How do I know what to link to?
Do you really have to manually paste a URL when creating a new link in the Nav bar? How come it can't auto detect spoke sites that are part of the hub? There seems to be a missing link here unless I'm misunderstanding the purpose of a navigation bar and adding sites to a hub site...Hub site hierarchy
Because I heard that subsites might be deprecated soon, because MS recommends flat hierarchies with Hub sites, I was thinking to renew our SPO site hierarchy. That hierarchy is based on subsites and looks like this: Customer 1 (Top Level) Location 1 of Customer 1 (Subsite Level 1) - Product 1 in Location 1 of Customer 1 (Subsite Level 2) - Product 2 in Location 1 of Customer 1 Location 2 of Customer 1 - Product 1 in Location etc.. Location 3 of Customer 1 Customer 2 Location 1 of Customer 2 Location 2 of Customer 2 Location 3 of Customer 2 Customer n... So we have an SPO site for each customer, site of customer and product of customer. Those hierarchies can be navigated easily via links to site contents. Unfortunately our approach seems now bad, because MS does not recommend subsites anymore. So what can we do? With Hubsites I can only build a two-layer hierarchy. What I am showing above is not possible. Are there any recommendations? Currently we are having already +2000 subsites, so those would have to be converted to +2000 site collections each?How to reflect all the changes made in one site collection to all the associated sites
Hi everyone, I wanted to know the way, how can i create one site collection using which if i associates other site collections then all the changes made in one site collection will be reflected in all the other associated site collections like, if i create one doc library or a view or a workflow or anything i updates, will be reflected to the other associated site collections. I'm experiencing a strange issue with the News web part on a hub site. The web part successfully pulls news articles from all other sites within the hub, but doesn't display the banner images. On top of that the web part doesn't display images for news posted directly on the main hub site except when the news source is set to "This site". In all other cases the web part doesn't display the images. So in this picture the top web part is set to "All sites in the hub", whereas the bottom one is set to "This site". I suspect it's a permission issue that is effecting the crawler, but I can't figure out which permission is wrong. I have granted staff read permission on the root collection and have also done a search reindex on all sites in the hub but the issue remains. The images were also from difference sources, some using the web search tool and others are uploaded. It's also the same on the Sharepoint App on mobile so I don't think it's a caching problem and I've tried multiple browsers. Any ideas? I'm not really sure what else to look at beyond scrapping the whole hub and starting over.Modern SP Site - Edit subTitle within the Sites Webpart?
Is it possible to edit the subTitle on the site card for team sites that are being pulled in through the Sites Webpart? This is on a Hub site and is pulling project sites that the user would have access to. I would like to have that display "Project Site" (for example). Is this something that can be done within the Hub or on the team site or is this something that has to be overwritten manually (script)? Thanks
