I was eager to install the official Windows 11 release today, however upon reading first I noticed that ungrouping taskbar icons / showing labels is not available anymore in Windows 11. Why the heck would you remove such a useful feature? This is the only thing preventing me from installing Windows 11. Will this feature come back? Might as well stick with Windows 10 until it sees its return (if ever). Solving this with third party tools is a no go.Solved368KViews90likes126CommentsWindows 11, Start button menu, make it show all apps by default
I upgraded to Windows 11 this week and I don't like the new Start button menu. I don't want "pinned" apps. I want to see All Apps in a list like before. Why don't we get the option to choose how we want things to look? So frustrating. Barbara259KViews32likes130CommentsThe i7-7700K meet the minimun requierments to run Win11. But its not suported, Why?
Hi, I have an i7-7700K. This CPU have TPM 2.0, It's compatible with Secure Boot, it have 4 core up to 4.2 GHz. It also is 64bit. I don't know why this CPU is not supported by Microsoft to install Windows 11. Update, 10/18/2021: Yesterday I bought a MacBook Air, I know that the MacBook isn't the best computer and that you are limited within the horizon of Apple. But I don't trust Microsoft and the new Windows 11. What if I bough another computer of 2.000 US dollars and in some years Microsoft decided that I need a new computer? At least, with the new M1 chip of Apple I know that they will support the hardware and the will send me Updates and give Support.410KViews30likes318CommentsAlt Tab for Multiple Monitors, please
Currently, "Alt+Tab" appears only on the primary monitor which poses an issue when working with a multiple monitor setup. Imagine having 6 monitors, you'll get an "Alt+Tab" that shows all windows/apps open on each of the 6 screens - all on your primary monitor. That makes an alt tab that is so big, with dozens of "screens" that is rather hard to navigate. Good luck trying to figure out which window is open on which monitor. So, I'd like to request to make it more optimal, please consider showing only the open windows/apps on the "ACTIVE /currently used monitor". So that when the user is working on his other screens and presses alt+tab, he can navigate his open windows on that monitor easily. In short, please give each monitor it's own alt+tab, that contains its open windows only. Thank you.68KViews23likes7CommentsHow to turn off automatic restart in Windows 11?
I frequently have long running tasks that can take days or even weeks running on my Windows 11 Home PC. Because of this, it should not restart without asking me first. My solution is to disable the windows update service, but I keep forgetting to reenable it and check for updates before starting another long running task. As such, I either never end up getting any updates, or I end up losing progress on a task that has been running for a week+.8.8KViews20likes3CommentsClipboard History does not recognize the Delete key on Windows 11
I recently moved to Windows 11 (installed from scratch), and as soon as it was ready I activated the Clipboard History with the Win+V shortcut, since I really liked this feature on Windows 10. But after a short while I noticed the Windows 11 Clipboard History does not recognize the Delete key anymore. On Windows 10 this works: - Invoke the Clipboard History with Win+V - Scroll to the entry you want to delete with your arrow keys - Hit Delete on your keyboard and that entry will be removed from the history. Clipboard History remains open so you can repeat this for as many entries as you like. On Windows 11: - Invoke the Clipboard History with Win+V - Scroll to the entry you want to delete with your arrow keys - Hit Delete on your keyboard, then the Clipboard History closes with no error or message. If you invoke the Clipboard History again, the entry is still there. So apparently there are only two options on Windows 11 now, use the "Clear all" button to remove all the entries from the history. Or click the 3 dots next to each entry you want to remove and then click Delete, which is... annoying if compared to Windows 10. Is there a way to make the Delete key work again?5.5KViews20likes24CommentsCBS crashes on Windows 11 24H2 KB5046740
I'm trying to maintain a stable system, but every Windows update seems to trigger a CBS crash, making the machine barely functional. The issue first appeared after upgrading to 24H2, and despite performing several in-place upgrades (refresh installs), the problem hasn't gone away. While the computer successfully merged all MSU files and installed the latest Windows version using the in-place upgrade process, I can't rely on this method for every update—it’s simply not practical. Here’s what I discovered this time: The Windows update KB5046740 was applied using an unexpanded variable, specifically referencing ($build.nttree). This occurred during the transition from version 10.0.26100.2314 (installed via in-place upgrade) to 10.0.26100.2454.Solved732Views18likes2Comments
