https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/create-users-for-k12-and-hed#prerequisites-for-sds mentions among the "perquisites to enable SDS for user creation" are School Data Sync (Plan 1) or School Data Sync (Plan 2). Microsoft Partners have access to documents that explain Office 365 Education Plan A1 includes School Data Sync (Plan 1) while both Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Education Plan A3 and A5 include School Data Sync (Plan 2). However, I can't find any details about the differences between the SDS plans on: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-education, which doesn't even mention SDS https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/microsoft-365-education https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/buy-license/microsoft365/ [EDIT] https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/licensing/product-licensing/microsoft-365-enterprise?activetab=m365-enterprise:primaryr7 mentions "School Data Sync Plan 2 (plan details can be found https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/)" - but there are no details about the plan there Does anyone know what the distinction is between School Data Sync (Plan 1) and School Data Sync (Plan 2)?Solved4.5KViews0likes2CommentsAnnouncing School Data Sync General Availability!
Hello Everyone, and welcome to the new Microsoft Tech Community focused on Microsoft School Data Sync. We are excited to announce that School Data Sync (SDS), our online classroom automation solution, is moving from preview to general availability! SDS helps schools save time and money by automatically creating online classrooms in Office 365 from their Student Information System (SIS or MIS). For more information, or to sign up for free deployment support for a limited time, please http://aka.ms/sdsga This tech community is a place for peers to share ideas, ask questions, offer suggestions, and provide community support. Microsoft folks will check in to make sure things are running smoothly. Now that hundreds of customers in over 20 countries have already used SDS to sync over 100,000 teachers and 2 million students, I hope this will become a popular gathering spot for school IT admins who use School Data Sync. Hello, I am really struggling with using SDS Manually as it keeps messing up. Currently, I have setup a profile to create new users and assign them Office 365 A1 Faculty or Student licenses. However, every time I add new users, all the existing group members gets reset and I have to manually add them again. This is really troublesome since I am no longer able to use Microsoft Teams app to take classes online since no-one is in the group that I intended them to be in. It's really bringing down the quality of education my students get. Can someone please assist me with this. It's urgent. I have tried calling Microsoft Support and it has been more than 3 days with no response from SDS team. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!1.4KViews0likes2CommentsSDS - How often does it run and can i force it to run?
How often does school data sync run? Are there any criteria that need to be fulfilled? I have seen SDS get data, do a run... but not a full run it seems since all teams are not updating. On the evening i see teams being updated instead when a second run have gone by. So it seems each run does not do the same thing? Can i force run the SDS if we have sent in much new data and i want to see the teams update fast?1.3KViews0likes1CommentRestricting Groups that are shared with apps
Hi, I am authorizing some app providers to access my school data via SDS. But I do not need to share all my groups with them, I only want to share the groups that are required to use the particular app. How is it possible for me to perform this kind of limitation when I am sharing my section/group data with app partners. Can I have some steps to follow to perform this? Thanks J.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsSDS Synchronisation error
In our organization, we have nearly 18,252 Teams to create. When syncing SDS with CSV files, for some Teams we have errors of different types. For example, for a group, we have the following errors: Group Name: 2020-058-GHE600-62 SectionTeamify => 1 error StudentEnrollment => 22 errors TeacherRoster => 1 error TeacherRosterToSectionMember => 1 error What is the cause of these errors?1.1KViews0likes0CommentsAnnouncement: School Data Sync Preview!

There doesn't seem to be an option to comment on the docs section https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/ as there is for example on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-service-descriptions-technet-library. School Data Sync (SDS), https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/ (published date 09/30/2017) says: "School Data Sync (SDS) is a free service in Office 365 for Education that reads the school and roster data from a school's Student Information System (SIS). It creates Office 365 Groups for Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, class teams for Microsoft Teams and OneNote Class notebooks, school groups for Intune for Education, and rostering and SSO integration for many other third party applications." And https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/frequently-asked-questions (published data 04/15/2018) still say: School Data Sync is a free service in Office 365 Education that reads the rosters from your SIS, and creates classes for Microsoft Teams, Intune for Education, and third party applications. ... SDS allows you to automatically create Class Teams within Teams for Education (There are likely more references to SDS creating Teams that could be found) - perhaps someone could update these references in light of https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/whats-new-with-school-data-sync (published date 03/26/2020) and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/improved-class-and-roster-sync-for-teams (published date 04/14/2020) to explain the difference between the ways Teams are provisioned for sync profiles created before and after 3/26/2020?876Views0likes0Comments
