SharePoint Online authoritative sites are trusted sites for Microsoft 365 Copilot to give priority to when using material for chats and search results. Tenants that don’t use Microsoft 365 Copilot appear to gain nothing from the new ability to mark sites as authoritative because it’s all about “Improved relevance and trust in AI-driven responses grounded in authoritative content.” It does seem like a good idea, though. https://office365itpros.com/2026/05/19/authoritative-sites-spo/76Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Cloud Revenues Reach $54.5 Billion in FY26 Q3
Microsoft’s FY26 Q3 results produced $54.5 billion revenue for the Microsoft Cloud, the part of the business that includes Microsoft 365, Azure, LinkedIn, and other services. The annualized run rate of $218 billion proves just how vital these revenues are to Microsoft. Lots of time was spent talking about Microsoft 365 Copilot, which now has “over 20 million” paid seats. Sounds good, and it’s up five million from the last quarter, but Copilot still has a long road to travel to profitability. https://office365itpros.com/2026/04/30/microsoft-cloud-fy26-q3/156Views0likes0CommentsM365 Copilot Android Application Not Working
I am using a Samsung S24 FE phone, and the Microsoft Copilot app is not working. When I open the app, I only see a black screen. I cannot open any menus. I cannot create or search for anything. There is only an empty home screen with dead buttons. I cannot sign out of my current account, nor can I figure out which account I am signed into (it logs in automatically). Here’s what I have already tried, but the issue persists: Enabled all permissions in the app settings. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Cleared the app cache and reopened it. Cleared the app data and reopened it.1.5KViews1like4CommentsChatGPT Enterprise Apps Grab Some Work IQ
If installed into a Microsoft 365 tenant, ChatGPT Enterprise apps can access SharePoint Online files, Exchange Online email and calendar, and Teams chats, messages, and tasks. The Entra ID apps created by ChatGPT have the necessary permissions to access information accessible to the signed-in user. Microsoft 365 Copilot can access more information, but being able to process files, emails, calendar items, and chats and channel conversations delivers access to a lot of Work IQ. https://office365itpros.com/2026/03/24/chatgpt-enterprise-apps-workiq/105Views1like0CommentsPlanner Agent Delivers AI Help for Tasks
The Planner agent is now available to users with Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses and any Planner license. The purpose of the Planner agent is to help people understand the steps necessary to accomplish assigned tasks. Like any AI tool, the quality of the agent’s output depends on the precision and completeness of the instructions given for a task. But if you’re prepared to iterate, the agent might work for you. https://office365itpros.com/2026/03/19/planner-agent/40Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Extends DLP Policy for Copilot Protection to All Storage Locations
Microsoft has enhanced the DLP policy for Copilot to cover Office files held in any storage location instead of only Microsoft 365 locations like SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. The change is made in the Office augmentation loop, a little-known internal component that coordinates use of connected experiences by apps. Extending the DLP policy to cover all locations makes perfect sense. https://office365itpros.com/2026/02/24/dlp-policy-for-copilot-storage/284Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Takes Aim at ChatGPT
Microsoft would very much like Microsoft 365 tenants to use Copilot instead of ChatGPT. A recent comparison between Copilot and ChatGPT outlines some areas that Microsoft thinks are important when deciding which AI tool to use. Microsoft has a point because Copilot is embedded into Microsoft 365 whereas ChatGPT is more of an add-on. The competition for hearts and minds is very intense in the AI space. https://office365itpros.com/2026/02/20/copilot-and-chatgpt/89Views0likes0CommentsCode Error Allowed Copilot Chat to Expose Confidential Information
A code error allowed Copilot Chat to expose confidential email. Microsoft is fixing the problem, but it’s a reminder of how AI can expose information of Microsoft 365 tenants don’t use available features to restrict AI access. Those features need to be configured and deployed, but that doesn’t take much effort. It’s better than users complaining when Copilot exposes their most secret thoughts. https://office365itpros.com/2026/02/13/dlp-policy-for-copilot-bug/1.2KViews0likes0CommentsMicrosoft 365 Exceeds 450 Million Commercial Paid Seats
Microsoft FY26 Q2 results included a new figure for Microsoft 365 commercial paid seats: “over 450 million.” Seats are growing at a consistent 6% year-over-year rate, and the June 2026 increases could mean an extra $10 billion or so revenue. In other news, we learned that Microsoft 365 Copilot has 15 million paid seats, or roughly 3.33% of the Microsoft 365 installed base. https://office365itpros.com/2026/01/30/microsoft-fy26-q2-results/927Views2likes0CommentsMicrosoft Copilot
Is anyone else having issues today? I was using copilot today like I have been for months. Using the same prompts I have been using for months when I started getting this response "I'd really like to help, but it seems this topic is off-limits for me. sorry about that!" I was trying to discuss with the AI what the issue was and tried showing the prompt when all of a sudden it said I was suspended for an hour. I tried to talk with support but they were no help.875Views0likes2Comments
